Approaches and Methods in Language Teaching

Probably one of the best text books I've ever bought. I use it for my Teaching English as a Foreign Language module and it's very informative without being overly complex

The authors are considered an authority on this subject and provide some useful insights. Sadly, in many cases they make unsupported claims about methods. It's a shame as it makes it impossible to check the validity of the claims. Secondly, they include whacky humanistic methods for 'historical record'. This gives them license to reproduce the uncritical sections from previous editions. Modern methods like 'dogme' are missing and approaches with little or no credibility, like MI theory are included.

Great book. Covers approaches/methods in depth, including the theories up on with they are based, as well as examples of procedures and techniques. Each method chapter includes a helpful conclusion, to explain the current status of the method in the field, as well as critiques. This book is exactly what I was looking for.

El libro es a estrenar, llegó bien embalado y protegido. Tardó pocos días por mensajería. En cuanto al contenido ya conocía los autores de otras ediciones, asi q es lo q esperaba. Está actualizado con nuevas propuestas metodológicas y es de fácil lectura, no es de estas guías demasiado técnicas q no te enteras de nada. Va con ejemplos prácticos q facilitan la comprensión

大学で外国語／英語科教授法を学んだときは、CLTに到達したあたりで終わってしまったのですが その後どのような動きがあったかをキャッチアップするために購入しました。 第２章で詳しくふれられています。CLTについてもその流れが詳細に述べられています。 巻末のアプローチ／メソッド比較表が良いです。 製造印刷をアマゾンでやっているようですが、本の紙質を変えてもう少し薄くするか軽くすることはできないのでしょうか？
