I am by all accounts a millipede fanatic. I spend a lot of money procuring my milliledes of all different species from all kinds of sellers across the country. Having quality substrate for my milliledes is very important because the substrate itself will consist of about 90 percent of a millipedes diet. This is the third gallon of millipede substrate I've ordered from Finns frogs and I am very satisfied. I spent hundreds of dollars on these Spirostreptus Servatius millipedes and I had full confidence in this product when I re ordered it in anticipation of receiving the millipedes because my other species I have been using this substrate on have been thriving greatly. And I would recommend it to anyone. I only wish I could buy a bigger quantity in bulk because I intend on buying more of this substrate in the future when I inevitably purchase even more millipedes. This stuff seems fantastic! Lots of good bio material in there. One bag was plenty for two small terrariums (10x10x5 inch and 10x7x8 inch) and a 2 gallon cookie jar. I still have half a bag left, although I did mix it half and half with some other rich soil containing guano. :) Shipped fast, arrived well packaged, and perfect for what I need! Highly recommend!

I'd recommend mixing it with another soil because it has so much mulch and extra stuff. It's great though and my millpede seems to like it!

Never tried this soil before, but I have never had any problems with other kinds of soil before this one. But it lead to a soil mite infestation in the terrarium and all but 1 of my millipedes died. If you do buy this, freeze it for 3 days in your freezer to kill any soil mite eggs that might be in it.

This is SUCH a good substrate for your isopods!! It's really good as a nice thin layer, but it also holds up a bit deeper for species that like to burrow! It's got all sorts of bio material mixed in there for your little guys to munch on alongside what you're feeding them! Does well even without springtails! (But I still recommend springtails!)
