The pinnacle of tower fans
First, a note: this listing includes several completely different fan styles, so as you read these reviews, make sure you're looking at the ones that are specifically for the fan you're considering buying. This is for the tower fan, indoor, with 180 degree oscillation. I live in Seattle, a city with very little air conditioning, which means we're all reliant on fans to stay cool in the summer. Everyone in this city has several tower fans like this, and while they definitely work and look more elegant than the old school round fans, they have a few common flaws: they don't rotate enough to cover the whole room, they're loud, and they often wobble back and forth from their own motion. Delightfully, Rowenta (a brand famous for making very high quality irons) has solved these problems with this tower fan. It definitely comes at a price premium, but this is the nicest tower fan I've ever owned, and that includes several models that I previously liked that were hand-picked by a major warehouse box chain headquartered in my city. Cool features that make this stand out: - The fan rotates a whole 180 degrees. This is a huge amount of rotation, and it helps spread the airflow more evenly around the room. - The fan is pretty quiet. It's not silent, for sure, but for an equivalent amount of airflow it's much more quiet than the one it replaced. - The footprint is relatively small. This fan extends taller rather than outward, which is perfect for a tower fan because it requires less floor space. - There's no wobble. Because the rotation is smooth and the fan isn't chaotic, this doesn't wobble around, even on the highest speeds. I'm a big... well, fan. It's definitely more expensive, maybe to a fault - this is 2x more expensive than a generic fan - but the 180 degree rotation is truly unique in this product category, and if you're looking for the best, here it is!

Shuts Off Automatically After 12 Hours - No Way to Run Continuously
This fan has a no-go feature for me: it shuts down automatically after 12 hours if you don't press any button. It does have a timer to set for 2-10 hours, but you can't run it continuously. I love the design, the 180 degree oscillation, the high air flow of the fan on high, and I really love the quiet operation. But I can't have a fan that won't keep running until I power it down.

Wide rotation, easy to use and assemble
This review is for the black tower fan that rotates 180 degrees. The fan was very easy to put together, with just a few pieces in the box - the tower itself, and two pieces for the base (plus screws). The base pieces snap together, then you screw it onto the bottom of the tower. It feels pretty sturdy, despite being very lightweight. The cord is nice and long so it can be plugged in and moved around as needed. The oscillation has a wider range than many tower fans I've seen, at a full half circle. It moves at a good pace and the airflow remains steady as it rotates. The remote works well right out of the box as well. There are three fan speeds, the highest of which may be a bit loud, and each has a noticeable difference in airflow. The timer function works as intended, with a generous number of options ranging from 1 to 8 hours. The auto function is a little unnecessary in my opinion, because all it does is read the temperature of the room and choose a fan speed based on that, but it does work as intended as well.

the fan did not blow me away
The fan blows nicely and really rotates a whole 180 which I wasn't even aware of and wondering when it would stop spinning all the way. I prefer it not to rotate that much as it would take too long to get back to blowing air at me. I see this 180 degree ideal for a setting where airflow is needed, for example, even if it's not warm outside but there's a ton of people in the room. It has timer buttons and also a temp sensor which I haven't seen before on a fan. Again great for airflow setting it up automatically to turn on and off depending on the temp settings. At the lowest speed, I can feel the air from a distance of about under 8ft. Not bad for its size and it looks like it blows spreading out the air. At max speed 3, it's as noisy as an average fan. Assembly was a breeze. I'm not a fan of the design, only a fan of the performance. While it's a nice looking upright fan, the base is not very attractive. Most people probably wouldn't care but I just always look at these details because I like aesthetic things in my home. The base is sort of a cone shape. I have other fans that are just a flat base with the fan on top of it. I would have preferred a cleaner design like that. I feel the fan could have a more competitive price for what it is and looks.

Nice Tower Design
This fan is powerful and meets all my needs. I really like the 180º oscillation because it does a great job of moving air around a larger room without having a constant breeze in the same spot. It is simple to use, efficient, and was easy to assemble. It kept my room cool during the summer and offered the quality I expected for a price just under $100. It is quiet enough to not be a distraction, especially at the slower speeds. The tower design allows it to not take up a lot of space and not occupy any precious table space. Overall, I'm happy with the "Rowenta, Tower Fan, Fresh 180° Oscillating Fan, Quiet Floor Fan for Bedroom, 5 Speeds, Powerful Cooling 40 Inch Standing Fan, Black, Indoor, VU6661".

Very happy with this fan!
I needed a new fan for my workout room as I obviously get quite hot in there! Though I don't want a loud fan, I figured getting this one instead of the ultra quiet one would be OK because I don't necessarily need it to be ultra quiet in my workout room, which is the main area I'd be using it. But it's still VERY quiet; much quieter than the fan I had been using even on full-blast. It's also nice and powerful and I've been starting every workout actually feeling cold, which is super helpful. I love that it's slim since I have to put it up on my TV console to reach me and there's no danger of it hitting the TV. Of course, this isn't as nice as the Dyson fan we have in our bedroom, but it's a fraction of the cost and does the job really, really well in my workout room. I'm thrilled with it!

This is not exactly as advertised...and randomnly shuts off
This review is for the Rowenta, Tower Fan, Fresh 180° Oscillating Fan, Quiet Floor Fan for Bedroom, 5 Speeds, Powerful Cooling 40 Inch Standing Fan, Black, Indoor, VU6661. First of all, the air flow from the fan is nice, it has a natural feel on the skin that mimics actual breeze. Also, it does truly oscillate 180 degrees. This means that you can put this at the side of a room, and cover the entire room, and this is great for air circulation. It has preset timers (1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour, and 8 Hour). It also has an auto setting which adjusts the fan speed based on room temperature. It ships with a remote control. That said, this is not a five speed fan as advertised on the Amazon product page. It is three speed. The most frustrating thing about the fan however is that it randomly shuts off. This has been happening from day one. And since the instructional manual only has pictures (or graphic illustrations), there is no way to troubleshoot this based on the manufacturer's instructions. Also, the 180 degree oscillation is nice, but the side effect of this is that the time it takes to go back and forth seems significantly longer than the average oscillating fan.

Rowenta Tower Fan (It's Great!)
This floor fan is much nicer looking than I expected. It is also, most importantly, a much better air-mover than I was expecting. It moves about as much air as your average box fan does on each of its respective (High, medium, low) speeds. The fan has a nice, wide 180 degree swath when the oscillation, or “swing” as it’s called here, is activated. I will say, and this is just a nitpick, that it’d be nice if the swing feature had a 100 degree setting in addition to the 180 degree swing. Either way, this is a 5-star fan in my book. Other than your normal high, medium, and low speed setting, there is an auto setting that adjusts the speed depending on the ambient room temperature. The ambient temperature is also displayed, in red leds at the top of the fan’s control panel. The included remote controls all of the same functions as the panel located on the fan itself. I recommend this floor fan (Rowenta) and am quite a happy camper.
