Undercoat Grooming Rake with Anti-Slip Wooden Handle, Steel Comb for Medium & Large Pets

……Our pets are priceless, and so is the Ordermore comb! Longhaired double coated dogs do well in colder climates thanks to their two fabulous coats. They have a guard coat, which is the outside shiny fur. This coat needs to be brushed often to remove the loose fur, and keep it shiny, because the brushing distributes the natural oils through a husky's coat. But, ahhhh, the undercoat. The beauty in the undercoat is that it is the main reason that the Husky is cooler in the summer, and warmer in the winter. (remember the undercoat keeps ldoublecoated dogs cool in summer!) I asked someone very wise what comb I should buy for Annie. She worked with me in an Assisted Living facility, and she needs to look her best! There are so many different types of combs, brushes, and so on, and after having huskies all these years I have NEVER been successful in grooming! She not only told me to “Ordermore,” she sent me the link! I wish I had asked her before this! There are even instructions for those of us who are CLUELESS! Valid points: It does say "do not use for other purposes except grooming dogs & cats," which I know makes sense. It says to avoid using it if there is something wrong with their skin, also a good point. Lastly, it says keep out of reach of children…great idea! The characteristic of the brush is the awesome classy natural wood handle, (this is really lovely!) It also gives you directions on how to use it, how to hold it, and how to be successful with it. They say to not use it with hot water, diluent, or alcohol, to protect it from deforming or discoloring, as well as to keep it in a cool and dry place, and avoid direct sunlight. I am much more successful combing her hair with this comb then any others I have tried, and I have tried them ALL it seems! The very expensive one that comes in many colors, I found USELESS. Not as great as this comb. This one easily combs the hair, and removes the undercoat with NO TUGGING! How awesome is that? One warning, don't leave it where a puppy can get it, because they love to chew wooden objects. If you do you will lose your wonderful ordermore comb! Did I mention that this is my second Ordermore Long Tooth Comb?

It works really well to get down through the hair -and remove excessive fur when your dog is shedding. However, I have two lg breeds with very thick hair this tool is not meant for short haired pups. I read some of the reviews that it isn’t made well . I’m a hairstylist by trade and I think it is sturdy; and it has a very good handle to hold the brush and it’s made well. Ofcourse, if you abuse it and drop it, yes it could bend or break. It’s much better than a comb because of the wood handle it’s easier to use and get a grip. . Very pleased with this product and my pups love when I groom them with it !

This is a perfect undercoat rake. My chocolate lab sheds constantly and blows his coat several times a year. We’ve got several things that help, the best being a serrated loop blade and one of those dog vacuums with an undercoat tool. And while my dog likes them both, for short durations, he won’t tolerate them through a full de-shedding. I saw this rake on a grooming video and decided to try it. It works just as well as the blade and vacuum but the biggest difference is how much my 9 year old pup adored this one. He sat through me clearing his entire undercoat with glassy eyes and begged me to continue once it was over. It must feel like a massage or something. Surprised me how well it cleared the fur too as it’s just a basic metal comb in a T shape. Very easy to handle. I think it just topped my grooming tools - for me and for my pup.

WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE!? Four week review: PRO: Sturdy hardwood handle appears strongly firmly attached to rake part. The steel head of the rake is solid, and has no rough edges, snags, or gaps in fitting that might catch and damage a coat. - The grip is comfortable for my (small) hands and husbands (big) hands. - There is enough room to angle the grip and use the rake as a comb to untangle mats --if you're careful. - Excellent price, and still feels solid after a few weeks. - I've been using it on Golden Retriever and Irish Wolfhounds regularly with no complaints from them. CON: None so far, will update review any flaws show up.

Love this thing! All I really need for my chocolate lab and his shedding! He gets really bad especially after a hard winter. This takes it right off.

Seems to be of good quality, but had bent teeth right out of the original package. I was able to straighten them and it works as expected.
