I've been wanting to try an portable iron/clothes steamer for a while. Mostly for it's vertical abilities to tackle some curtains and awkward sheets that I struggle to fit and manage with an ironing board. This YONGYAO model fits that requirement nicely, while also being able to do horizontal steaming. It's compact and lightweight, so ideal for travel or when space is at a premium. The output is 1200-watt, which seemed initially to be a bit on the low side, however it still packs a punch of heat and steam when you need it, and is well balanced for something of this size. It is fast to heat up, and has six different temperature settings so you can steam everything from silks up to thicker wools and linens. I like that it has an LCD screen, where you can easily set and view the temperature. Overall, it's a decent portable iron and steamer, that is easy to use, works well and good value for money.

This is a brilliant little travel iron. It comes with a little bag to keep everything together as well as a water measuring cup, an iron stand and the iron itself. It heats up in a few seconds and has a little display where you can choose what temp setting you're going for. If you want to dry iron then you just go straight ahead or if you want to start the steam flow you double click the button under the handle. The handle can be rotated round to use the iron as a steamer or can be left in its usual position for normal ironing. This iron works for 240 and 120 volts as well according to the manual meaning it can be used in the USA and Japan as well as europe/UK - using traveling adaptors. A great item in a small form factor means I'll definitely be taking this on my next holiday!

Both me and my wife really do not enjoy ironing, as it is such a faff to get the ironing board out and go through all the rigmarole of the process. This compact lightweight travel iron/clothes steamer is the ideal alternative. We chose it primarily for its steamer function, as we have found that sometimes that's all that clothes need if they are a little creased. Set-up and operation is quick and simple. The included measuring cup allows you to add the correct amount of water for use. Then switch it on, set your temperature using the buttons on the front and the corresponding LCD display. It doesn't take long to get up to the desired temperature, and there is a clear guide on the screen in order to choose the right temperature for the fabric you are dealing with. The ironing function works very well - the ability to add steam, or just dry iron, is a welcome inclusion. It is lightweight, which meant using it for a long period of time didn't cause any fatigue. Using the steamer function is also straightforward - twist the handle through 180 degrees, then press the steam button. The device doesn't take long to start emitting the steam, and worked through the creases on my wife's dress in good time. I really like that it comes with a small bag to store everything in, which is ideal for travelling and storage. The base plate is also a great inclusion. It is small and compact enough to take on trips and would easily fit into a suitcase or travel bag. Two small criticisms: - The flex is a little short, however this is balanced out by allowing it to be portable. - The end of the iron is rounded, rather than tapering to a point, so does make getting into smaller areas/folds on your clothing a little more tricky than with a conventional shape iron. Overall this is a fantastic, portable iron/steamer that works very well, is comfortable to use and is ideal for travelling. Aside from the small criticisms mentioned above, this is great and I am happy to recommend it.

This is a portable unit but it is fairly heavy so I can’t see it being taken outside of the home. The tank holds about 100ml of water which is poured in once you have pushed the handle to one side. It heats up quickly and there is an electronic display which clearly shows the temperature. As a flat iron either dry or steam function works fine but the plate is small so you wouldn’t want this to be the only iron you own. The steam is turned on by double pressing a button under the handle. I found the upright steam function to be a bit harder to get the hang of but I did sort of iron a tee shirt while it was on a hanger.

My old iron finally gave up so I was looking for some sort of nicer replacement. This iron and steamer came up so I thought Id give it a try. On the surface this is a rather nice iron - the style of it is quite nice, it has a digital display for the temperature and modes and touch controls. The iron is very easy to use and quite compact for travelling purposes. Having said that, I do have a few minor and major issues. Firstly, when it comes to high power electronics my first priority is electrical safety and this product does not make me feel safe. To start, the listing advertises this product as 1200W but then on the actual device I see a power rating of 1400W and then a 13A fuse in the plug socket which would imply that this product can get as high as 3250W! This kind of inconsistency and an incorrect fuse make me extremely uneasy and afraid to even plug this item in to the wall. Secondly, whilst I like the design and how the product looks like, it is made in such a way where the only place you can put it down onto is the included base. This is rather annoying as you will need to keep moving this base around if you want to set down the iron at any point. Lastly I have to mention the heat. It just isn't enough to iron dress shirts properly. My old iron made quick work of my shirts whilst this iron requires quite a lot of time for every spot. Given the low footprint of the hot plate this will take way too long for only a single piece of clothing. I really wanted to like this product, however I cant ignore all of the issues I outlined above and hence advise against purchasing this product.

A lot to like about this transportable iron and clothes steamer this is good for home use and excellent if u want to take it elsewhere like on vacation as it light and comes in a tidy drawstring bag this iron heats up in seconds and has got a nice light up led screen so u can see the temperature u have set and the fabric material your about to iron wool cotton silk fiber blend and linen it also has a steam button that will help u get the wrinkles out which is really handy for u as u will be able to get creases out while your clothes are on a hanger this comes with a iron base to place the iron on for safety and a measure cup to put the water in the water tank and a instruction manual.

As with many new gadgets it's probably best to start by reading the instructions (supplied), and this is certainly true in this case. I didn't and almost ended-up with hot water spraying onto my foot by accidentally initiating the cleaning function. Thankfully however, the resulting hot water went on the carpet instead. So as you can see in my photo, this travel iron is supplied with the following items: Travel Iron Iron stand with protective non scratch feet Mini Water jug Storage Bag Instruction Manual To fill the iron it's necessary to turn the handle counter clockwise in the direction of the arrow, this then allows access to the rubber filler lid. Be careful which water you use, the instructions recommend either filtered water, distilled water or bottled spring water, NOT tap water. Operating the iron is quite straight forward, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on, then using the function button choose your desired temperature setting, there are 6 to choose from. Then wait until the red light has distinguished and you're ready to go. If you want steam you press the spray button under the handle twice to activate it or twice to deactivate it. As the title suggests, this is a travel iron and portable steamer combined, if you want to use it as a regular steam iron, after filling with water you return the handle to the fully closed position (opposite direction to the arrow). Likewise if you want to use as a dry, don't operate the spray button under the handle. Unlike a regular steam iron, no steam will come out unless the spray button has been activated. Using as a hand steamer, you rotate the handle to your desired position then operate as normal, selecting your chosen temperature on the function button, then pressing the spray button for steam. Note: steam will continue to be released until you press the spray button twice more to deactivate it. Sounds complicated but in practice it's easy enough. My one handed video probably doesn't do it justice as I wasn't able to stretch my t-shirt flat enough to remove the creases but it was mainly to demonstrate the ease of use. Pros: Seems to be well made - Good solid construction Auto OFF function after 8 minutes of inactivity Easy to understand/operate digital display Small size makes it useful for travelling Cons: As mentioned above, it is possible to activate the 'self clean' function by mistake when first turning on this machine which could cause scalding accidents. I deducted 1 star for this reason. Iron takes a long time to cool down Cable Flex is too short, this needs to be at least 1 metre longer to be useful Iron can spit water when used as a hand steamer (as per video)
