I bought this to shred meat that had already been cooked and taken off the bone. If you've ever watched a restaurant cook shred beef or pork, you've seen them use (usually two) cleavers almost exactly like this one.The job can be done with a standard cooks knife but this cleaver makes much quicker work of it.The sharpness as delivered. I am extremely choosy about a knife's edge, and some knives I regrind a bit before using. I did not feel the need to do that with this one. Just a few passes on a steel at a steep angle.But for everyone else it's the sharpest ever. I would absolutely use it to chop vegetables and just about anything else that doesn't have metal or bones in it. Upon close examination, I could see a few light grinding marks and feel a bit of a burr on one side, but only gave it a quick pass or two on a steel.This is a good weight. Not too heavy yet with enough weight to work nicely. It's inexpensive yet not "cheap."So it is now added to my formerly sparse collection of regularly used knives, only having 4 total though only one is used every day.

I use this knife to cut vegetables instead the much more expensive ones I own. It came sharp and has stayed sharp. The weight and shape are really great for cutting with a rocking motion. Very easy to clean.

This product exsudesqualiry. It is super sharp. Heavy enough to give you a great cutting comfort and we'll designed. It is not as big and heavy as I would like but it really replaces all but a bread and pairing knife. Highly recommend.

Great Purchase. Love the feel of this cleaver. I mentioned in a previous post I hadn’t received the item but that was my mistake. Item received and I couldn’t be any happier.

Packaged really nice. Sharp. Sharpens easily. Weighted nice. Works well. I like using this knife more than my expensive forged german knives.

Although I liked the blade, shortly after receiving the knife, the handle cracked and is now almost unusable. The handle is poorly formed.
