Narrower than Prio with beefier sole.
A little more narrow than the Prio but makes up for it with a more substantial sole. I love the Prios, but I walk FAR, DAILY, and the thin sole of the Prio can hurt after 12+ miles more than a few days in a row. I got these for an upcoming trip where I’ll be walking..you guessed it.. A LOT. I’m happy with the quality. Just a heads up, the gray ones are not gray and purple, more of a gray and a darker gray. Still look great

Great barefoot-style shoes
These are great barefoot-style shoes. These are very lightweight and flexible with no cushion, and they conform well to your feet. I introduced barefoot shoes into my collection many years ago, but gave up after my favorites kept getting discontinued. For reference, my most recent go-to shoe for running, lifting, and other activities has been the Altra Escalante 4. The Xeros have been great for lifting and HIIT-- I haven't yet tried to run in them because I'm trying to give my body time to adjust, plus they don't seem like they'd be very warm in the current cold weather. As for sizing, I have the same HFS size as my Altras, size 7. This is the same size as my "fashion" sneaker size (vans, converse), and a half size larger than my dress shoe size, which is generally a 6.5. You may not need to size up from a standard running shoe because of the wider toe box. I have fairly narrow feet and had to tighten them quite a bit, so they should work for people with wider feet as well. They tighten well without bunching up, if your feet are on the narrower side. If you have really wide feet, you may want to try the Xero Prio. I tried those as well but they are stiffer and more boxy, so ended up returning them and keeping the HFS. My only complaint not worth docking a star for is that the laces are pretty stiff, but I still haven't had any major issues with them coming untied. You may need some time for them to loosen up/stretch to conform to your feet. Overall I am extremely happy with the HFS, and these have become my go-to for all athletic activity other than running (hoping to add running in too at some point).

Wow - Happy Toes at Last!
Comfort! I grew up wearing extremely narrow shoes which means that I mangled my feet while being young and stylish. The last few years have made that error ever so obvious. I finally gave in and bought wider shoes. Oops - still too tight around my toes. When I found these shoes on Amazon I ordered in hope that they were an answer. And are they ever! Balance issues have grown over the last few years and I bought shoes that would support this and that of foot structure. When I put these shoes on I was not expecting to feel wonderful - they fit, my feet fell in love with them immediately, and my toes think that they are finally free. The barefoot sole is wonderful - I will have more of these on order right now.

Well made but not comfortable
I wear a size an 8 1/2, but I bought an eight in the Xero HSF II woman’s shoe, and the fit was great. While it’s an attractive, sturdy shoe, with an interesting color and material details in the sole, the sole was too hard for me, and the upper wasn’t comfortable all day long. So far, I’ve tried three other brands of barefoot shoes, including very lightweight for indoor use and sturdier ones for outdoor use. This shoe was the least comfortable of them all. I don’t think it’s worth the price, so I’m returning it and trying another brand.

Finally! Sizing right.
Finally! I got the right size. These shoes are as flexible, soft, and comfortable as I knew they would be, but omg, getting the size right was quite the journey. I have more Xero shoes than I can count from the past decade. But, for some reason, I had to get a half size smaller for these. Xero shoes wrote me and said that the rule of thumb is that 1/4 inch is half a size down and 1/2” is a whole size down. Not true. I first ordered from Amazon, which was double the price from Xero’s own site. I thought the long shoe must be a mistake, so I sent them back and got the same very long shoe half price from Xero, themselves. My normal size was way too long. Then of course, Xero sold out in their Black Friday sale, so of course no shoe to exchange. So, I went back to the overpriced (more than double) Amazon shoe and ordered a whole size down. Way too small, dear God. I patiently ordered again, and wallah, here I am this evening with the perfect half size down from my normal size. Thank you, Amazon for still having them, when Xero’s site does not. I paid double, but my spine will be very happy with how easily my feet and hips move in these. And, thank you Xero, that these shoes are not purple. Amazon and Xero show them as a god-awful black to purple. They are a classy black to grey that does not clash with my green pants, brown pants, red shirts, Christmas socks…..worth the long journey to happy feet.

Don't let my review discourage you unless you have feet like mine!
These didn't work for me at all. While they were the right size, they are so low in the toe area that my big toe rubbed on the top. Don't let this discourage you if you don't have feet like mine. My big toe is longer than my other toes and on the fatter side. I have always hated shoe shopping. Thankfully I did find a brand that works for me. My husband has a pair of these that he loves.

Great for ankle stability
These work great for all kinds of activities -- running, weightlifting and pickleball. I need zero shoes to help my ankle stability after a ligament injury. This is my second pair. I was happy I got so much wear out of my first pair. The only thing is the laces don't stay put so if you are doing vigorous activity just know you'll have to change out the laces if you plan to run or move fast wearing these.

Does not have wide enough toe box
I really like these shoes and have been using them to play dance dance revolution, but I have had problems with starting to get plantar fasciitis due to my toes being smooshed. The shoe is just too narrow through the ball of the foot to the toes. Also there is a seam within the shoe that falls directly next to my pinky toe and rubs, which causes a lot of pain after awhile. These were okay shoes, but I will definitely not be purchasing another pair of any Xero shoes.

Hermosos
