ESR for iPad Pro 11 Inch (M5/M4) Case, Rebound Series, Black

Edit 2: ESR sent me a new version about a month after launch, with properly working wake/sleep. Love this case & ESR's customer support. I went ahead and removed any mention of sleep/wake not working, so it wouldn't confuse anyone looking to buy the case going forward. This case has a lot of Pros for the iPad Pro. I purchased both this case and the official Smart Cover from Apple (as well as a Magic Keyboard). I just wanted a case for when I wanted to bring the iPad places without the Magic Keyboard and this seemed like a decent case at a much lower price point. I returned the Apple one and kept this. Pros: - Decently made, I like the feel of the cover. It is relatively the same feeling, grip/texture, structure and as the original Apple folios. I have owned other aftermarket folios and they felt like they had cardboard inside - this one feels like quality. - The magnets are strong and hold the iPad in place. It's not difficult to remove but I am also not worried it will fall out. - I really love the flap for securing the pencil to the side. This is the best solution, since you can drop this in your bag with the pencil attached (and charging) and not worry about it falling off. The flap doesn't get in my way at all, even if I don't have the pencil attached - and I can magnetically fold it back out of the way. - Biggest Pro is the price Cons - The 'lip' of the case sticks out further than the original Apple folio, which cuts into your hand slightly. It was the biggest noticeable difference between the two cases and the first thing my girlfriend pointed out. At almost 1/5th the cost, the case is good in comparison to the Apple one. I do really like the flap for the pencil. Edit #1: ESR reached out to me, as my main complaint with this cover is/was the sleep & wake functioning not working. They shared a little hack using a Post It Note to make the sleep & wake function workThey also said they are working to correct the case in a future iteration, without the need to use the sticky note - in which case, it will be a 5 star product, IMO. Really appreciate ESR support reaching out.

*Update in April 2026* - very good customer service rep reached out quickly after I had the issue, and issued not only a replacement but also a refund. Their customer service is still the best and I appreciate them reaching out quickly to help me. The replacement unit had no issue adhering to the back at all, so I must've gotten a faulty initial product. I’ve been using various ESR cases since my very first iPad more than a decade ago, so was excited to make my latest ESR buy for my iPad Pro. The design is smart and light for the rebound series, with two inconveniences. First, the back of the case at the camera unit angles up and leaves a gap between the back of the iPad and the case. There should be a magnet near the camera part for better fit. This was not the case for my previous ESR case. Also the cover extends just a bit over the edge of the case, making the pencil roll off easily when trying to secure the flap. It is a shame for this product because the price point is ideal and the quality is otherwise great and no issue accessing buttons. The product did come with ESR’s easy replacement with no return needed policy for item doesn’t fit or work properly, which is this case. I’ll be reaching out for a replacement and hope it work better.

Small and thin. Just what I needed

This is an excellent case for the price! I use it on my iPad Pro M5. Skip the one from the manufacturer that is four times as much! Also, the magnetic flap that you can cover the pencil with is also great for traveling, or you can flip it back and not use it.

Quality has been great so far, however only had it a few months. I love how thin it is and that I can easily snap it off and back on without anything wearing out like plastic clips of other cases. I use this for work and it’s been great. So I can put the keyboard on and off as needed. I like that the flap can either have space for the pen or be flush with the iPad when you don’t have the pen. I also like that it helps to hold the cover open so it’s not lose on the back. The magnets hold well, but I don’t predict much drop protection so only recommend if you handle your devices with care and don’t have a high risk of dropping it. It’s best suited for protecting against scratches in your bag or while shuffling around the office/home.

Fits well strong magnetic connection

There are many things to love about this case. The finish is excellent, with a kind of rubberized eggshell satin feel that feels very good to the touch and doesn’t excessively attract fingerprints. It's the same finish on the Apple Pencil Pro. The magnets are also adequately strong and securely hold the iPad in place. The inner section is also very good and doesn’t leave any marks on your iPad screen. Overall, it feels very OEM and is a very good value compared to Apple’s folio case. There are only two issues I find problematic. With the folding part of the case there don’t appear to be any magnets to help it stay in place when folded up—just gravity. So, if you lift it up, the base hangs down and collapses when you place it back on a surface. The second issue concerns the Magic Pencil. The case holds the pencil securely in place, but only if it’s placed while the front cover is open. If it’s placed while closed, the magnets won’t make a secure connection, leading to the pencil getting knocked off the next time the front cover is opened. This is because the edge of the case protrudes just enough to prevent a secure connection. This same issue prevents USB accessories from sitting flush against the iPad, forcing users to remove the magnetic back before putting it back after the device is installed. Initially I rated the case poorly because of this issue, but it seems that it is a necessary tradeoff to provide edge protection and Apple's own folio case has the same issue. After several weeks of use I've adapted to mounting the pencil before closing the front cover and it's no longer a problem. Overall I'm happy with it.

Por el precio es un excelente alternativa por eso le doy 5 estrellas, viene con buen soporte y compatibilidad de apple con esto me refiero, al cerrar la funda se apaga el ipad, los imanes son fuertes, aqui viene lo no tan bueno o que puede mejorar, se ensucia muy facil me refiero a que todo deja manchas se ensucia muy facil, la durabilidad no es la mejor tampoco y el material no se siente de un producto premium lo cual resalta principlamente considerando es un ipad pro M5 un producto premium. Fuera de eso por el precio una excelente alternativa a la funda original de apple.

Best Products Very Satisfied

I’m not usually a huge fan of iPad cases because I don’t like adding bulk, but I wanted something that would protect my iPad from scratches while carrying it around in my bag. This case has honestly been the perfect solution. The first thing I love is how slim it is. It doesn’t make the iPad feel bulky or change the sleek look of the device. The magnetic attachment is also brilliant. You can remove the iPad with a little pressure when you want to, but when it’s attached, the magnets feel incredibly secure. I had seen some reviews saying that the iPad can fall off the case, which initially made me hesitate about buying it. I’m so glad I ignored those concerns and bought it because, in my experience, the iPad is very securely attached. I’ve actually tested this quite a bit. I opened the case and deliberately wobbled it around while the iPad was sitting on my bed, and the iPad didn’t fall out or even move. The only way I’ve managed to remove it is by deliberately applying pressure and snapping it out of the magnetic connection. During normal use, it feels extremely secure. The fit is also excellent. All the corners and edges line up perfectly, and the cut-out around the camera is really well designed. Nothing feels misaligned or awkward. Another thing I really like is the versatility of the case. You can fold it into different positions depending on what you’re doing — use it as a stand for watching videos, tilt it slightly when you’re working, or simply remove the iPad when you want to use it without a case. I honestly didn’t even know a case like this existed. I wanted protection without the bulk, and this gives me exactly that. I bought the black version to match my black iPad Pro, and it looks fantastic together. If, like me, you’re not really a fan of cases but still want something slim to protect your iPad while you’re carrying it around, I’d definitely recommend this. Absolutely worth buying.
