S40T 2.1 ch.Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer, TV Synergy, Wow Interface, AI Sound Pro - Black

Received and installed yesterday. Installation went smoothly, no hickups. We were using Sony tv speakerbar and subwoofer and these made a world of difference. Much more compatable than the Sony speakers we were using and sounds 2 degrees better. Don't skip the LG subwoofer. It does make a difference for very little more money. Please note there are no screw holes on the bottom or rear for mounting. These would be a good addition. I can highly recommend these if you have a late model LG tv and not overpriced You won't be disapointed.

Connected easily. Even to my seven-year-old Samsung. I had a VMAI which went out without me. I was spoiled having a soundbar. The tinny television sound is grating. I still have my original VMAI in the living room. When she decides to quit me, I'll look for the LS S402, again. Sound once I selected cinema was perfect

Before you purchase this item make sure it is compatible with your TV preferably an LG, it just makes the entire setup process a lot easier. In my case, all I needed to do was to turn on the sound bar and enjoy my TV experience. I did have purchase a HDMI cable since one was not provided. It just works well in my situation. I have a 55in LG smart TV, the room it is in is approx. 14 x 14 with standard fittings. If the room was any larger I would purchase a larger system to get better results. Sound gets lost in more spacious surroundings. All in all I am happy with my purchase.

Absolutely love this! I mainly use my TV/soundbar setup for music and sometimes movies or shows. This came suggested to me for what I'd mostly use it for and it does not disappoint! This soundbar comes with a really awesome sub and was easy to get hooked up to my TV. It also comes with different settings based on what you're using it for (AI mode, standard mode, cinema, video games). It also comes with a little remote!

We have a "Second Viewing Area" in our finished basement, where my wife works out using online or console Zumba or kickboxing programs. As we all know, TV speakers suck. They have no bass and tinny sound. As the TV is an LG, I thought an LG soundbar would be an easy addition to kickup the intensity of those Zumba sessions. This LG is pretty nice, setup easily and the wireless sub connected instantly. The surround sound of this unit is much better than I expected, as I just wanted it for more volume and dynamics. The good center stage and L/R separation is icing on the sound cake. The only downside is that it doesn't go louder. When she is using our X-Box, it is fine for bumping out the salsa music, but sometimes I use it to watch sports, and for that I have the volume close to full so I can hear the play-by-play. At this price, I don't really have much to complain about, considering how much of an upgrade it was over the lame TV speakers.

One Man's Trash is another Man's treasure. wow how time flies, one minute I was a 30 year old with a brand new $3000 TV entertainment sound system and the next minute I am doing the math and realize that my new system is 25 years old and bulky, so I opted for a "new one" but techincally my old one still works and this was just vanity...insert a seller of an open box item. So far this LG Sounbar has exceded my expections. Everything synched together and set up was a breeze and with the LG app, changing things from your phone and couch is as easy as 1,2,3. The sound is more than I need for a small living room and the fact that I can "bluetooth" anytime with the app make this so much more fun for moments when you want to listen to your phone through the bar.

S40T (2024 model) My first issue with this product was that I wanted to mount it to a VESA bracket, but alas, it has NO mounting holes. Had to purchase a 3rd party shelf. I agree with the other 3-star reviews about sound quality OK, but not great. For streaming channels that do movies with Dolby or DTS, it can provide better sound than what you'd get from the TV's own speaker. I don't think the wireless woofer adds much, but it's likely content dependent. On standard TV sound, my older ZVOX sound bar had better customization control. I bought an LG TV this year, so I was attracted by the fact that I could eliminate using a separate Sound Bar remote, and thus control sound volume using just the TV remote. The instructions say that will work ONLY if you use the OPTICAL output, but that is wrong! TV remote only controls the sound bar volume if using the HDMI/ARC connection. BUT there is a down side to doing that. With the sound bar connected to the HDMI/ARC output, it takes a full 30 seconds after powering on the TV before you start to hear sound. During that 30 seconds, the sound bar is waiting for a wake up signal from the ARC HDMI connector, the screen flickers once or twice, and eventually you get sound. You can get around that 30 second wait by powering on the sound bar from its own remote first, but that brings us back to using TWO remotes, which I was hoping to avoid by having both devices by LG. The sound bar WILL however power off when the TV is powered off. The ST40T remote can be used to set other sound customizing functions, but it is not at all an intuitive remote, other than power, volume, and mute. You can also use the iOS or Android apps for customizing sound, but, again, I don't want to have to use my phone or tablet in addition to the TV remote. The bass, loudness, and treble controls on the apps don't do much anyway. In fact for several days, I thought they weren't doing anything. I eventually concluded the effects were subtle. LG is retiring these apps, trying to push everyone to using their THIN Q app which can control other LG appliances. THIN Q has the same functionality and controls for the sound bar as the sound bar standalone apps, but it's a marketing gimmick to get you to start buying all LG appliances, I guess. I am being generous with 3 stars. I probably should have stepped up to one of the other 3 LG products in their sound bar family. But the price point and discount on this one was about as far as I was willing to go. As I am using it now, I can keep the sound profile on STANDARD sound and thus I only need the TV remote for control.

Sounds much larger than expected given total size of the package. Comparable to much larger sized bars in high price tiers! One thing to mention, there is no actual text display to change settings such as EQ/SUB dB settings, so the easiest way ends up being downloading the app and connecting to bluetooth for the purposes of EQ or other sound adjustment. 99% sure these settings are applied universally in all input modes, even when not in bluetooth mode. Seamless integration with eARC given HDMI premium cable, which is not included in the box (cheap options available). Big upgrade compared to normal integrated TV speakers. Fits nicely between legs of TCL 55” TV

If you are looking to upgrade your tv speakers, this is a good choice. Do not expect theatre like bass and loudness. This soundbar is good enough for small halls or rooms. Mine is close to 150 sq.ft and i dont have to go more than 40% volume for watching movies in Netflix. Music and dialogues are clear and audible. Got it for 10k with offers.

Enjoying a Lots of music / sounds coming out from the system. Voice is clear and doesn't scream during ads. Only downside is there is no option for voice only (bring down surround sounds during drama) HDMI works better than optical When connected optical cable to onkyo TH R390 the combination being excellent.

This sound system is working well with LG smart tv. It's bluetooth system is nice to play your songs or instrumental music from mobile. One can select various sound modes as per choice. I found it suitable for self entertainment without excessive noise to effect hearing negatively.
