Mattel Jurassic World Fierce Changers 2-in-1 Dinosaur Action Figure, Double Danger Toy Transforms from Stegosaurus to Carnotaurus in 11 Steps

A little smaller than I expected. Although, I would purchase again.

A gift for grandson, seems to be really enjoying it.

I’ve purchased some transforming-type toys for grandchildren and discovered that there’s a huge difference in quality and the ease or challenge of transforming the toy to different shapes. This Jurassic World “Fierce Changer” is a great toy for kids about five to seven years. It takes 11 “steps” to convert the dinosaur from Carnotaurus (when did these “new” dinosaur names happen?) to a Stegosaurus (more like the names I’m familiar with!). None of the steps are impossible (as we’ve found with other toys) but each step is sufficiently a challenge to make the toy rather a puzzle; there’s a real feeling of success on the child’s part when they’ve transformed them the first time! The solid plastic (yes, made in China) pieces fit well together, making the transformation process smooth for little hands. Length of our model is about six inches—just the right size to carry in a car for pretend play and quiet activity. I rate it five stars for fun, solid construction and smiles!

First off, very small kids might find this a little too complicated to follow all the steps. The steps in the included pictorial instructions show one transformation but, not how to go back unless you follow them backwards and flip the arrows. The figure is fairly well-built, although, personally, I didn't find it nearly as interesting as, say, a vehicle that transforms into a robot.

The design of the dinosaur is quite ingenious. I was impressed by how he changes from dinosaur to dinosaur. It does take a little patience and precision to get the "wrong" body parts tucked into the body. I can see potential damage over time if these "wrong" parts get jammed in. With patience, though, it works great.
