Easy way to stay cool in the summer heat.
My wife and I like to take our dogs on long walks through the many trails in our local community. During the summer, these walks can get very hot. We generally take a couple cold wet wash cloths on our walks to help keep us cool. Once we saw this, we just had to try it out.We have chosen to keep it in a drawer within our garage fridge so that it's cold and ready to go at all times. Today we took it on our walk which was a 3 mile stroll on a new trail. Although it's not mid-summer yet, this was our longest walk for the year so far. This item stayed cool through the entire walk which we couldn't say for the washcloth I was carrying. When not cold, this item is somewhat malleable, but when it gets cold (even in the fridge) it stiffens up. It doesn't take very long for it to get cold, but once it's cold it stays that way for at least an hour or so. It comes with a bag that we store it in when not being worn and just drop the whole bag into the beer fridge.Overall, this is exceptionally easy to use and is very comfortable. It works better than we were expecting so we will very likely end up buying a second so that I can have one when both the wife and I are walking together. Thus, absolutely, we'd recommend this if you work outside or like to take long strolls in the summer, this item will help keep you cool.Criteria for Stars:1 - Total rip off, doesn't perform basic advertised functions or not product advertised. I would likely RETURN and would NEVER recommend.2 - Not worth the money. Performs some of the basic advertised functions, but likely not all, and ultimately was deemed as not providing enough value for the money spent. I would not buy again, and would likely not recommend unless the buyer had a very specific use case.3 - It performs the basic functions as advertised, and has some usefulness at the price point, but doesn't work for all of the reasons I purchased. I would likely not buy again, and would only recommend if buyer understood usefulness limitations.4 - It performs most all of the features I purchased it for, but has limitations. I would likely buy again and would recommend.5 - Completely as advertised and likely exceeded expectations. Is if high quality and well shipped. I would totally buy again and recommend.

Very noticeable tag with company name attached to it
This Cooling Neck Tube has a very noticeable tag with the company name on it. It can be seen in the pictures. I thought it could be removed, but the way it is attached and the liquid inside of the ring makes it less likely that I will even try removing it since I don't want it to leak. Surprisingly, the tag does not irritate and I really couldn't feel it. I just would rather not have it on the ring since it is so noticeable. The information that comes with it says you can put it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes, which I did. You could see and feel small pieces in it after being in the fridge and it felt cool on my neck. You may want to wipe it down before putting it on since it felt and smelled like there was a fine powder on it. It easily wiped off with a paper towel, which got rid of the smell and the residue. The insulated bag that comes with it looks well-made and durable.

A lot easier to cool than the competition, nice cooling capacity
DISCLOSURE - I received this neck cooling tube from Lucky Syllable on an early spring day when the temperature was around 50°F. It came frozen and my current room temperature isn't much above the freezing point of this substance. It's hard to say exactly how well the tube would function on a summer day or how well the insulating case works.GOOD* The fact that the substance in here solidifies at such a relatively high temperature makes it so handy to use. It doesn't need to stay in the freezer overnight. You can just stick it in the refrigerator or a cooler with ice and the freezing time is much shorter than with normal ice packs, think in terms of minutes instead of hours.* Since it melts at a higher temperature than a normal ice pack, you don't have to worry about this being too cold against your skin.* First time I've ever seen a cooling device like this come with its own insulating bag. It's a very nice bag with a padded, reflective interior. The case seems sturdy. No bad seams or problems in manufacturing.* Tube is very flexible and elastic. It is made of TPU but what I'm familiar with that it reminds me of is a sheet of silicone.COULD BE BETTER* While it works quite well, it's a thin ring and will have minimal skin contact. On a hot summer day, it will be sucking a lot of energy (a.k.a. heat) from the air and not from you. You're probably be better off wearing something insulating over this, even if it just means putting it under the collar of your shirt, so it cools you more than the air. I'd love to see this same substance in a flat pad instead of a ring.* It's made in a closed horseshoe sort of shape like in the manufacturer photos. If you let it freeze in its natural shape, you can't actually put it on without cracking the frozen substance inside the tube. That's not too hard to do because it's brittle when frozen, but I worry about putting strain on the casing. The casing seems very rubbery, but there's no way I can be sure how much abuse it will take before it develops a weak spot and splits. That could just be me being too paranoid.OVERALL I really like this cooling ring. especially since its freezing point is so unusual as compared to other ice-pack products. I'll revisit the review once it's summer and I actually need this, but for now I'm quite pleased with it. I'm really looking forward to being able to use it once the weather's warmer. 5 starsFREEZING AT 64°F? (Otherwise known as injecting way too much science into a review.) If freezing at 64°F doesn't make much sense to you, here's what it means. It's a change of state from liquid to solid. That doesn't mean that the substance is cold, only that it's a solid. It's just as accurate to say that a cast iron pan is in a frozen state even while it's being used to cook eggs. The benefit of being in a frozen state is that it takes a lot of energy to change the substance to a liquid. The amount of energy that it takes to turn a chunk of ice into water isn't much different than the energy it would take to get that same water from its freezing point (32°F) to its boiling point (212°F). So even when the neck ring is only at 60°F, there's going to be a lot of cooling power in it. Granted, most of its cooling power will be at 64°F because that's where it needs all that extra energy to change state and become a liquid. It will feel like it's 64°F for a very long time.
