BREATHE Airmonitor Plus Indoor Air Quality Monitor w/CO₂, PM & App. Gen 2.

I recently bought the BREATHE Airmonitor Plus, and I have to say, it has been a game-changer for our home! This little device is packed with features, and it’s been eye-opening to see what kind of air we’ve been breathing.First off, the setup was a breeze. I’m not the most tech-savvy person, but the instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in no time. The display is easy to read and understand, even for someone like me who doesn’t usually deal with technical stuff.The BREATHE Airmonitor Plus measures everything you could possibly want to know about your air quality – PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10, CO2, TVOC, Formaldehyde, Temperature, and Humidity. I had no idea how much stuff could be floating around in the air!One of the most surprising things was how high the CO2 levels were in our bedroom at night. We’ve since started leaving the door slightly open to let more air circulate, and we’ve both been sleeping much better. It’s also been really helpful to see the temperature and humidity levels – turns out our house was way too dry, which was probably why we were waking up with sore throats.The build quality of the monitor is great too. It feels sturdy, and the sleek design fits right in with our home decor. It’s portable, so we’ve been moving it around to different rooms to get a complete picture of our indoor air quality.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It’s given us peace of mind and has definitely made us more conscious about the air we’re breathing. If you’re on the fence about getting an air quality monitor, I highly recommend the BREATHE Airmonitor Plus. It’s worth every penny!

Easy to calibrate and use. Compared to commercial instruments from a neighbor, this one tested spot-on accurate. Great home and office option. 5 out of 5.

This is a very useful device for my purposes— I have a small office area that I work in with poor ventilation and I was curious how bad the air quality was.I was very surprised to find that my CO2 levels were at a very concerning 4,500— they are supposed to be around 400. The monitor immediately identified it as unhealthy and that prompted me to immediately open my windows and cut my fans on to circulate air. As soon as I did that, the numbers began to rapidly decrease until they finally got back down to 405 or so (Good/Healthy). Problem is, as soon as I close them and begin to hang around, they creep right back up pretty rapidly— but at least the monitor shows this is the case very clearly for me.I know these readings are legit because the CO2 numbers go down immediately after I open windows or get fresh air in— and further, when I am in the room (like overnight) they increase substantially and progressively— but during the day while I am out of the office all day and return, it is still in the low 400’s. So it’s definitely me increasing the CO2 levels and that proves to me it’s not just some random made up measurements.The other particulates are very low here probably due to me having a high quality HEPA filter always running, so that doesn’t surprise me but lines up with what I’d expect to be accurate.But when I open the windows and my neighbor down the road is burning some debris or something or someone has a fire nearby or there’s pollen etc- those particulates immediately shoot up as soon as I let the outside in.So I’m convinced it’s a legit product and measurements are real based on those evidences.That is all useful info that I can apply to help with my health.Everything is easy on the unit, but the one difficulty I had (like so many others) was getting the darn unit to connect to the app and wifi. I tried sooo many times— and I’m a network engineer, so I know what I’m doing.Here is a tip: the only way I was finally able to get it to connect was I had to unplug it and completely drain the battery dead, then hold the power button for 10 seconds as I plugged it back in and it came back on (to set it into pairing mode)— the time I did that it worked immediately and perfectly. Hope that helps someone with this same problem. Shouldn’t be that way but I think that’s the fix.The only other issue I have with this product is the display is freakin BRIGHT- you don’t want this thing in your bedroom while you’re sleeping, trust me. You can dim the brightness using the app (once you can finally get it to connect and pair, otherwise you’re doomed)… but I’d rather use the proximity sensor to cut the screen off when I’m away or not moving/near— that’s a clearly advertised feature.Unfortunately, this feature does not seem to work. It’s set in the app to cut the display off when I’m not near, but it never does. Have adjusted time limits, cut it on and see… cut it off and see… tried it on AC power and on battery, restarted everything— nothing works so far. Very disappointed in that because I have to put it in my drawer at night or cut it off so my room is not like a midsummer day; which is a bummer since it’s supposed to be able to cut the display off via the proximity sensor. Best I can do is crank the brightness level way down, but then I can hardly see it during the day- so please fix that bug.Other than that, it seems to be accurate as far as I can tell and the temp and humidity sensors are within a few percent/degrees of my 2 other meters so— truth is I’m not sure which, if any of them are accurate, but they’re all “close enough” for my purposes. I’m not running a science lab or anything where I need .00001 precision there.Anyhow. Unit is cool, battery life is very short-only a few hours- but I don’t really use it off the AC anyhow, so no biggie for me.Would like all the features to work a bit better and the app fleshed out a little more (widen the alarm thresholds, they’re very limited… and make the active screen on the app match what’s on the unit, or save the last one you had it on- I hate having to select CO2 every single time I go to view— I am never really interested in PPM or VOC levels but it always starts on the same screen no matter what you’ve set it to on the unit or in the app last. Super easy to do a “default initial screen”… but it works for what most people are interested in.I could recommend it as a useful tool if your air quality is in question and you want to be able to have a way to monitor and get quantitative data to be able to act on.

CAUTION the readings can read way too low. Safety issue.I am testing with 4 CO2 monitors running at the same time in the same spot in my house, all NDIR sensors.My testing has 2 of these Breathe Air Monitors, 1 other similar Air Monitor, and 1 Air Monitor I bought in 2012.The Breathe units re-calibrate automatically at least once every 2 days. (Maybe once every 24 hours)My house runs around 850 ppm CO2. This is what all 4 monitors read when I manually calibrate all 4 units.So, what's the problem? Well, 3 of the units automatically re-calibrate themselves at least once every 2 days. (Maybe once every 24 hours) After they recalibrate in my house the 850 ppm CO2 readout drops to 450 ppm CO2. The house air is still in the 850 ppm CO2 range, but 3 of the units say everything is OK at 450 ppm CO2. (At this time, my old unit, which does NOT automatically recalibrate, is still reading 850 ppm CO2)This is a Safety Issue, you think the air is fine when it is still at a high level. i.e. you are reading 450 ppm CO2 when the air is still 850 ppm CO2.I asked support if there is some way to turn OFF the automatic recalibration. Their answer was NO.So my only option to get good readings is to take the units outside every day: wait 5 minutes, push the button 3 times quickly and then hear the beep. This means they are Manually recalibrating. Now the readings should be within a reasonable range for the next 23 hours.p.s. When I say all 4 units read 850 ppm CO2, they are all in the 800 range (800 to 900). They never exactly read the same. This is OK, because the accuracy is +/- 50ppm + 5%.Here is what support says:What you’re seeing is the automatic baseline calibration (ABC) that most NDIR CO₂ sensors use. The monitor periodically assumes that the lowest CO₂ level it sees over time represents fresh air (~400–500 ppm). If the device never experiences true outdoor air, it can reset its baseline too low and pull readings down into the 500s after recalibration.

I just got the Breathe Air Monitor today. And first off, just want to say thank you so very much for having it at such a great price, that is much appreciated. It arrived in perfect condition. I wanted something that had good reviews and that would also be accurate. I have an Amazon Air Monitor already but i wanted an extra monitor just to be sure of the readings. I already have 2 medical grade air purifiers that i purchased from Amazon, so i am sure that is probably why my readings are so low. My other monitors also show low readings too so i know that this is accurate. I worried a little at first seeing that the PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 all kept saying zero, but i guess that is a good thing to have low or no readings. The CO2 was giving me a number reading so i know it was working ok, but finally got the PM readings to show 1 and then go back to zero. I think my 2 air purifiers i have running plus i vacuum every day to keep the dust and dirt down, is helping since all the readings are so low. But with the wildfires that were going on all around me, plus a neighbor that smokes next door and then the 4th of July fireworks, which really set off my monitors and purifiers. So the combination of purifier and monitor work together very nicely. My Alexa keeps reminding me that i have excellent air quality, and i want to keep it that way. Keeping a monitor and watching out for your air, this is the best thing i have ever done. I did not know that was probably the reason why i had to use nasal spray and allergy medication all the time. But since being a clean neat person to keep the dust and dirt down, it has really made a difference and i think everyone should really buy these monitors to keep track and know their air quality. All i know is that i feel so much better and alive now than i ever have and being able to breathe is just amazing and sleeping good too. There really is no noise to this unless you have one of the alarms going off on your air quality, but that is a good thing, but also, you can mute the sound too, but i prefer to know when my air quality is bad so i can make the proper adjustments. I think i probably am the only person here in my town who has the best home air quality right now, and is really good to have this monitor to let you know. Also, it was easy to add internet wifi, the app is fantastic and easy to understand.UPDATE---After having this monitor for a few days now, i think it drives me more crazy trying to fix my air quality, but it started telling me to open a door or window and let air circulate, poor ventilation. Which, after i do this, the C02 reading does go pack down, but opening a window and door also increase the PM1, PM2.5, PM10 and VOC numbers, not too much, but enough. However, with the heatwave currently on and it being close to 100, opening a door and window helps, but you also get hot doing this. My CO2 numbers are starting to spike and was surprised at the 800 CO2, but as soon as i turn on the kitchen vent and open the door and window screen, the numbers do go back down. But when you close your door again and turn on your air conditioner, the numbers go back up. So it kind of drives a person crazy trying to figure this all out. My living room is being monitored by another air device and CO2 is fine, it is just my kitchen area. I guess i have to pick and choose my battles. But i know at least the device is working and doing something. Accurate or false reading, who knows, but at least it alerts me to a potential problem.

As someone managing CIRS and MCAS, indoor air quality isn’t just a wellness goal—it’s a medical necessity. I bought the AirMonitor Plus to help track environmental triggers and compare data across other sensors I use in my home.There are things I like about this unit: it’s compact, the screen is clean and easy to read (though the font is small), and setup initially felt straightforward. The CO₂ sensor even seemed to track accurately out of the box.But after I paired it with the app and did the 3-button calibration, everything stalled. The CO₂ readings disappeared, along with other metrics. I went through the full reset process—powering down, recharging, placing it in outdoor air, doing the 3-button press—three different times. Eventually, CO₂ came back, but PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 still won’t track, even when disconnected from Wi-Fi and using the unit in stand-alone mode.Here’s the concern: if someone isn’t running comparison devices or doesn’t have a baseline sense of their home’s typical CO₂ or particulate readings, they might not even realize the sensors are frozen or off. Everything could show up as “0” or “good,” and you’d assume your air is clean—even if it’s not. That’s not okay for a health-focused product.For $130, I just don’t think this is plug-and-play enough for those of us who rely on accurate data daily. Disappointed, because it had real potential especially the easy to ready UI, small compact size and all the right metrics. While its nice to have an app, most people recovering from mold and CIRS are also sensitive to EMFs so personally an app. The battery life is short, but personally id keep it plugged in.In the photos I'm comparing our dedicated c02 detector with c02 on this unit and also the current air monitor that tracks very well for us. This is 24 hours after initial plug in, 3 reboots, and disconnection from the app.

I really like the air monitor.I’m hoping they improve the app though. Right now, I get many notifications whenever the PM or CO2 limit is reached whether that’s because the levels are increasing or decreasing. It'd be nice to also add the AQI to see how the air inside compares to outdoor air quality.It needs to stay plugged in 24/7 if you want continuous readings all day. Otherwise the battery life was not very long. Maybe a few hours.I like the display. If you have the screen sleep on, you have to walk up to it and wave at it to wake up the screen and then it’ll go back to sleep after a few minutes. You can also leave the screen on 24/7 and change the brightness levels on the app.

I really wanted this to work for us. We’ve been searching for an additional air quality monitor to use alongside our Dyson purifier, because we recently discovered extremely elevated levels of formaldehyde, PM2.5, PM10, and VOCs in our home. We needed something that could reliably measure these pollutants, pair well with an app, and record data consistently for health and legal documentation purposes. Unfortunately, this just wasn’t it. The biggest issue was sensor reliability. Our Dyson (whose primary function is purification, not monitoring) consistently detects chemical spikes and records them accurately. In comparison, it took a lot for the Breathe Air Monitor Plus to register elevated levels of PM10, VOCs, or formaldehyde—even when we knew levels were high. I followed all setup instructions and recalibrated it, but it still felt inconsistent and slow to respond to significant changes in air quality.Battery life was also underwhelming, though that’s manageable if you keep it plugged in. My main concern is accuracy—when you’re relying on a monitor to alert you to potentially dangerous chemical spikes, it has to be dependable.At this price point, I expected stronger performance. If it worked flawlessly, I wouldn’t hesitate to pay for it. But given the inconsistency we experienced, it feels overpriced for what it delivers. I truly hate leaving a lower review, especially because the feature list is promising. But when it comes to health and reliability, this didn’t meet our needs. 2–3 stars.

Love all the readings that this monitor can do! It also looks great! Not as ugly as other monitors. I testing the TVOC & formaldehydes by opening alcohol near the sensor and it did detect. The app works great & the data export feature is really convenient for me to review in excel. I love the graphs in the app too. I was feeling tired in my home and this monitor helped me realize I had high CO2 levels in here. It also made me realize I had high humidity at over 60% which is why my place felt stuffy and my floors were getting soft. I bought 4 dehumidifiers immediately.

Got it the other day, So far seems pretty good we painted the other day so I know the TVOC would be a little higher than normal and it’s showing that so seems to be working good. Happy with my purchase

Works well and is portable. I can move it around from room to room. My wife suffers from a lung infection. I wanted to make sure the air was excellent. A dust remover helped.
