EXACTLY what I was looking for!
I just got the iPad M4 11 inch and I was looking for a nice keyboard case that I could detach the iPad from as needed. I liked the idea of the Apple Magic Keyboard but (1) I was NOT paying $350, that’s wild, (2) I didn’t like the fact that there wasn’t a case or some sort of shell for the iPad to be in when detached from the keyboard (for $350 you would think they’d give you something), and (3) there was no way to secure the Apple Pencil (it magnetizes to your iPad but I want to make sure it STAYS there, again for $350 you think there would be something). I looked into other options as well and found some cool options from Typecase which is apparently a pretty popular brand, they even had their own version of the Magic Keyboard at a lower price ($100ish) but it was the same thing with the same things missing. That’s where this beautiful keyboard comes in! I LOVE it! First of all the material is fabulous feels so high quality. It’s like a silicone based materiel that feels buttery smooth and soft. The keyboard is amazing as well and the backlighting is great! The case is a little weighty but it is NOT heavy! This case comes with a shell to go on your iPad that you can use on and off the keyboard. I also really appreciate the fact that the closure is made to further secure the Apple Pencil to the iPad when not in use (I don’t know about you but I’m not willing to lose $129 because I bumped the pencil off of my iPad) I know I could talk about connectivity to the iPad, smoothness of the trackpad, keyboard quality, etc as well but everyone else did a great job talking about all of those things with this great keyboard so I decided to hit why I like this better than that overpriced and under-protective Magic Keybord! 😂 This is everything I wanted in a keyboard and I’m super happy with it! Hope this helps! Ps: sorry I don’t have the iPad in the case at the moment, it’s charging and I really wanted to to get this review up 😂

A well-built, Great Functioning Keyboard and Case
This is a fantastic case! It is easy to use and provides great all-around protection for the iPad. All of the corners of the iPad are well-covered and button access is fully enabled. The Bluetooth pairing is seamless and the trackpad works well. The placement of the iPad in either horizontal or vertical use is effective and easy with a magnetic attachment to the case. The stand is at a fixed angle but the angle works well. The only downsides of this case are: 1) its weight (slightly heavier and thicker than the Apple Magic Keyboard, but 1/3 the price — and the ESR case provides much better iPad protection); and 2) lack of a dedicated storage partition for the Apple Pencil (which is easily knocked off if not being used while the case is open.) This latter challenge is also present on the Apple Magic Keyboard, without a flap to hold the pencil in place while traveling. Overall, this product is a great value. It is a highly functional case, with the biggest problem being the Apple Pencil storage while the case is open. If you don't use the Apple Pencil regularly and do want a great keyboard case, this is one you should purchase.

Pros outweigh the cons
It's a lot thicker than I was expecting. Coming from the Apple Magic Keyboard, the ESR one feels twice as thick. It's a lot heavier too. That said, I really like how it holds the pencil down securely. I've also find myself appreciating how I can put the iPad Pro in portrait mode, or, when in landscape mode raise it a couple of inches and the magnet can still hold it in place. So lots of flexibility on how to orient the iPad itself. That, plus the price argument, and how it works just like you would expect a keyboard to, make it a great alternative to the Magic Keyboard.

The perfect case if you want an iPad laptop + an iPad
Maybe the best Case + Keyboard for an iPad. Even compared with the Apple version. The quality is good, the keys feeling is nice, the trackpad is also good. I feel that the option to select something without doing a click on the trackpad is missing, or maybe is how iPadOS works. Love the magnetic options you have. Love that even with the keyboard, you have a case on the iPad. Design is good, maybe heavy for some people. Connectivity and battery are good.

Awesome case for the money.
This is a awesome case for the money. It is a great alternative to the Apple Magic Keyboard for a third of the money. Build and functional quality are excellent. The include case for the iPad Pro gives you piece of mind for when you just want to use it as a tablet. Very happy with purchase, and I would recommend this to anyone.

A good Keyboard, buuuuut…..
So I’ve had this for a year, and Initially I loved it. I still do like this keyboard A LOT. I really like how you can easily detach it and use the iPad as a standalone tablet and keeping it in portrait mode is so helpful. BUT I have noticed ever since I had my iPad that the touch screen is very unresponsive and not stable. It will work most of the time but have issues where the touch response will suddenly stop working and you can’t even scroll with the trackpad. I finally figured out that it is the keyboard causing this. When the iPad is connected to the magnet, it causes this issue at least for me. It’s a real shame because I think this is such a great product, but it will cause you iPad to not function as well —- The main reason I got this case was because you could turn the iPad into portrait mode, which is really useful for editing photos. I also love that the iPad sits in a slim case and is well protected with a secure spot for the pencil. The first thing I noticed was how heavy it was out of the box, but I think this is needed for this case. For the iPad to sit in portrait mode (and also in the very useful higher iPad view that sits more at your eye level) there probably needs to be extra weight to the case to keep it from tipping over. I’ve been using this for a couple weeks and I only have a few minor grips, nothing too major. It soaks up finger oil and I wish they had a version with a more matte covering, the keys take a few seconds to activate after you’ve been inactive for more than ten minutes (I wish I could extend that time and just charge more often) and the hand often activates the trackpad when typing (you can reduce the sensitivity of the trackpad and just practice holding your palms up to resolve this) Overall, I think this is a great keyboard. There are probably some tradeoffs to the Magic Keyboard, but it’s a third of the price and you get some features that you don’t get on the Magic that are very useful. I love the build quality and versatile nature of the case.

Detachable keyboard case that fills the bill for me
I got a more expensive recommended brand keyboard case when I got the iPad. It has been ratty about half that time. I wanted to be able to carry the iPad without the keyboard, so wanted another detachable case. I took a chance on this one. So far, so good. I like that it has its own case and that the keyboard and magnetic backing are separate from the case. Because of the magnet, I am able to place the case vertically or horizontally. I am also able to adjust the height. I use the keyboard when I am working on something that requires a lot of typing it works well and I like the colored back lights. This is much nicer than my old one. I hope it continues to function as it has so far.

Best 3rd Party Case you can get right now!
6/2/24 As the title suggests this is probably the best 3rd party keyboard you can get right now. At 1/3 the price, it is a no brainer for anyone who wants a nice keyboard for their new iPad. Pros: Keys: the keys itself have a very apple feel to them and are low tactile, typing is very simple on them. Features: To be specific this keyboard has built in gestures which makes it easy to swipe between apps and go home. It also has backlighting on the keyboard for night time use. Trackpad: A good size and simple to use with the gestures and casual scrolling Magnet Strength: The keyboard itself comes with a simple case which magnitizes to the actual keyboard itself. If you want to use your iPad in tablet mode you can easily remove it and still have a case on it. Keyboard also has great stability which evens out the weight of the keyboard+iPad. Very great design!! Cons: Battery: Now this isn't exactly a con but not being able to see the battery life of the actual keyboard (yes it has its own battery and can luckily be charged via USB-C). Not easily being able to see the battery life of the keyboard is a big con to me. Connection: Again this isn't exactly a con but unlike apple's magic keyboard (which pairs seamlessly) this is a bluetooth keyboard so you need a constant bluetooth connection and it must re-pair when you are not using it. Conclusion: I have been using this keyboard with my new iPad for a couple days and I greatly enjoy it. You can beat the easy price (which is $110 at the time of this review 6/2/24). Which is 1/3 of apple's magic keyboard case. For anyone looking for a cheaper alternative as of now this is the best you're gonna get! You are not sacrificing a lot in terms of features and is overall a worthy alternative
