Holland Hardcover – Picture Book, September 1, 2013

This picture book is not to be missed; one of the best if not the best I've seen in 2013 or maybe the decade. It is a wordless travel picture book that gives the viewer an extraordinary foray into another culture and the artist's use of color is extraordinary. For young readers, the book opens up seasons, holidays, places--urban and rural, historical and present-day, pasttimes, and people of all ages.It was one of the New York Times Best Illustrated Books of 2013 and certainly deserves that award. It is for all ages. A delight!

Amazing illustrations. No words, just full of illustrations from different parts of Holland. Recurring characters you can find in each scene (balloon, camper van, Black Pete, cats).

They should only be presented for sale as a set.In addition, I received the package two days after ordering it but paying for overnight.

This book is the best illustration for teaching children.

This books is better than an "I Spy"! It's so intricate and the love for Holland is obvious. I love the bright and beautiful colors.Wordless books are so much fun!

I come from Spain, and had shortly lived in The Netherlands. Got the book for myself, as a I was feeling nostalgic...Illustrations are some of the most beautiful and fun I have seen in a long time, but as a non Ducht, some (fore)words on the history of the country, or just some explanation on certain carachters and elements would have been nice and helpful to fuly understand the book as a hole.Anyway, run and grab it, cause it is great!

livre magnifique, qui fourmille de details. extra pour developer l'observation et le vocabulaire des enfants. Les plus petits auront besoin d'aide pour trouver les personnages récurrents (dans ce cas, "le ballon jaune" du meme auteur est plus facile et également très beau) , les moyens s"amuseront et les plus grands / parents, s'ils connaissent les Pays Bas, retrouveront plein de payasages connus, source de discussions avec leurs enfants.
