If you mean would this hold a baby's christening gown - it would hold a dozen of them. It's made for an adult wedding gown, so it's very long and wide at the bottom, actually trails on the floor of my closet when it's hung on the rod. Great for the evening gowns I bought it for. But for a baby's christening gown, far too big.

I only had it in there from July - November. My dress is an ivory color, but it didn't turn yellow.

Is this water proof?

This will reduce water accessibility but is not waterproof.  If submersed it will eventually soak through.  These are not plastic which ages and will often crack or split over time.  I had one that was returned to me that had somehow gotten water in the zip lock bag the garment bag was sold in.  Though it was obviously wet, I took it out of the bag , opened it up, hung it on a hanger and in our garage and within the day it was just like new,.  There were no water spots, no smell, And there was no mold.  I am an alterationist and see many different garment bags.  I am a big fan of these breathable bags.  Their size is great, the zipper soft and smooth, and after that wet return, I know the garment bags can handle water too.
