Great so far! Fits perfect on the center console vent of my Mazda cx 5. Magnet does t seem crazy strong but so far it has not slipped off. Exactly what I wanted and no complaints. My car is older and I needed something to hold my phone so I could follow Google Maps without using my hands and being distracted.

I love this little guy. I’ve had countless mounts, including several magnetic ones and this is easily the best for my Subaru. It locks onto the vent tightly, and holds my phone perfectly. For reference I use an iPhone with MagSafe and couldn’t be happier.

The iOttie iTap 3 Magnetic Air Vent Car Mount is an excellent choice if you want a clean, magnetic-only mounting solution that doesn’t require suction cups, windshield mounts, or adhesive dashboard pads. Its strong magnets, compact design, and ball-joint adjustability make it a solid option for everyday use. However, the tradeoff is that your vent’s mobility is largely locked out once installed — so if you frequently adjust your vent direction or like to move it around, that limitation may be frustrating. Also, care must be taken when placing the magnetic ring for optimal alignment. I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars for performance and convenience. For buyers who don’t mind fixing their vent direction, it’s a great mount. If vent flexibility is critical to you, you may want to consider alternatives (e.g. dashboard mounts or mounts that clip without stopping your vent adjustment).

Secure fit to my cars dash fan vent. Magnet strong enough to handle the bumps of poorly maintained New York streets.

This works great with my magnetic case, my phone has never fallen off. Magnet is super strong. And you can make sure it is adjusted to have a FIRM grip on your vent. Really really glad I went this route for a phone mount. If you dont have a phone or a case with a magnet built in, it also comes with some to attach to your phone or case, so don't worry about getting a different case or buying adhesive magnets on top of this purchase. Definitely recommend.

Great product! Very satisfied with the purchase. Solid construction. Easy to install securely in the air vent and to adjust for a perfect view. Magnets hold iPhone 16 Pro tightly. Nice touch that a magnetic ring adapter is included, which I used to attach to a non-MagSafe iPhone’s case so it will also be able to use the iTap 3.

I really love the idea of magnetic phone mounts because they don't have moving parts that can wear out (such as springs, elastic bands, etc), plus they are easy to attach and remove. Mounts that attach to the air conditioning vents also help keep your device from overheating (which I have had happen many times here in the desert when the device is left in direct sunlight while driving). For this device, I feel the build is of simply and nice quality. The item is primarily plastic, but is of good quality and feels very durable. Nothing feels fragile and I believe it will hold up over the long term. The magnet is plenty strong and holds my phone just fine. iOttie even included a magnet ring mount in case your phone or case does not have one, which I think was a nice touch. I tried the mount on two vehicles. First, the mount worked great on my 2024 Ford Maverick truck - no issues at all. Installing and tightening the mount was simple and the mount remained very secure with no wiggle. However, my results weren't so good when I installed it on my 2007 Ford Focus. The issue is the vent slats on the 2007 Focus are much more narrow, which didn't allow the mount to tighten enough to hold the device securely. If you find yourself in a similar situation and want to make this mount work, a simple solution would be to add another layer of rubber/foam grip on the back of the mount. I am confident that would resolve the looseness, (Suggestion to the manufacturer would be to perhaps provide additional rubber grips that could be added to the back for these cases?) All-in-all.... 5/5 on the Maverick, but 1/5 on the Focus because it simply wouldn't work as-is. I tend to think most cars will be fine - and if it fits, it works great! Based on my personal experience on the two vehicles, I have to give an overall 3/5 in this regard. If it works on your vehicle, I think you'll be satisfied.

This was the vent-mounted version. It worked great for a few months. The vent mount was secure, the magnet attached securely to my iphone, the phone was held steady. Then, while driving along one day, it just snapped off at the "neck", the thinnest part. I had been gentle with it, always unscrewing so it would move freely before before adjusting it, never trying to force anything, so the breaking wasn't my doing. It broke because the part that got maximum stress from ordinary road vibrations was a very under-engineered piece of thin plastic.

I was initially very happy with the product but it has not withstood the test of time. After a few months a part has spanned which means it can no longer be used. Disappointed as I now have to search for a better replacement.

A good quality piece of equipment. The holder clips into the air vent securely when tightened down and the magnetic mount holds the phone to it securely. Good swivel action. All good.
