I haven't coloured my hair at home since I was a teenager and only did it this time, as I wasn't going to my usual, (extremely expensive) hairdressers due to 'lockdown'. I had a lot of white/grey along my parting and at the front/side and someone at work recommended Clairol Root Touch Up. I did a strand test several days before for fifteen minutes and a skin test and didn't have any reaction to the chemicals but the colour didn't stick to my hair. Not good, I thought! However, when I did the actual colouring a few days later, I left it in for 30 minutes, (instead of the 15 minutes recommended). This time the results were great. The grey at the front and sides was covered and went brown to match my hair colour, (except where I missed a bit!) The grey along my parting was covered to the extent that it went a kind of dark golden reddish colour which is not unattractive and not unlike what sometimes happens after I have been to my hairdressers a week or two after my professionally applied colour! I paid attention to other people's reviews on here before selecting the colour, (big thanks to the person who helpfully put pictures of the 'golden brown' on her dark hair - that helped a lot!) My natural hair colour is dark brown, with lighter tones - 'Medium Golden Brown' was definitely the right shade. I will definitely be using this product again - I don't think I will be shelling out for expensive hairdressers any time soon, assuming my next attempt at home root touch up goes as well as this one!

This is such a useful product which saves at least 3 salon visits a year. Easy to apply to roots and enough I would say for most hair types.

Repeat purchase. Started using in first lockdown. It’s great, very easy to use and not messy. It says to keep it on for 10 mins. I keep it on for about 20-25 mins to give better coverage. I have mid brown hair, and use Medium Golden Brown. Not too dark or light. Keeps me going until back to hairdressers.
