The 16 ounce Omega swirl is about the same price as this 8 ou strictly fish oil. Can someone explain why the fish oil is better than the omega swirl?

there is MUCH LESS omega 3 DHA/EPA about 1/3 only in the omega swirl which is a lot of sweetening and additives versus the straight oil which is just oil, maybe with some E (can't remember if its in there too)

the potency of this item must be preserved in low temperature, meaning refrigerated .... sending this out without ice takes away the goodness of this?

Your question is a good one and very common so let me explain: with all unprocessed oils like this or hemp or flax, the product should be kept cold as much as possible, but exposure to warm will not spoil it like meat or perhaps ice cream as long as it isn't super hot and/or for weeks and weeks. It is kept cold before shipping and upon delivery so it is just fine. It takes heat and TIME to spoil. FYI, the reason it is all in black containers is because it is also photosensitive to light, but once again, it takes light and time to do damage.

How much vitamin A and D does it contsin per serving?

Barlean's fish oil is heavy metal and toxin free as we use small body fish and do a cold water filtration which allows for the vitamin A and D to be left behind. Whats left is a pure and very high quality omega oil.
