One Bite With A Stranger (The Others, Book 1)

Thin, but fun- and in line with the series
This book is actually an expansion of a short story that I never read. Technically speaking the story here is really BOOK 1 of the "Others" series, but having read them so far in the order the books were published I can tell you it doesn't matter at all. It doesn't detract from this book or the series to read this one after the previous 5 books. As far as this particular story- it is a little thin, as in, you can tell it is a short story that has been expanded. Not really much plot beyond the basic romance, though it tries.Big thing of note- the female character is well done. She is a strong, intelligent, independant woman who has sexual fantasies that have never been entertained and aren't the kind that are easily shared for that kind of woman. She ends up, almost by accident, with a very old, dominant vampire willing to indulge her and respect her at the same time. In the end, no one had to "submit" to anyone anywhere but in the bedroom. After reading the last book, WALK ON THE WILD SIDE (which I HATED), this was my greatest fear- this this was a nice way to re-engage me in the series. All around a fun, light read.

More like a Vampire erotica sex book
They spent more time in bed then really doing anything else. Only one fight scene. I liked that the guy vampire was Russian and he called his mated Russian endearments.i disliked one of Reagan's friends I think her name was Andrea she was pushy and over bearing and thought she new what was best.

Funny with a Twist
This story is fast paced and the storyline is different. It is a must read into the paranormal world of what is called the " Other Series." A steamy romance about a fantasy fix for Regina by her friends. Regina wants to be romanced by a vampire. The twist is she meets Dimitri who is not the fix her friends arranged for her to meet but a real vampire. He reads her mind and gives her the type of romance she has been craving. The story is funny at times while you meet many different types of "Others" who help round out the storyline and intorduce you to their world. Since reading this book I have have read all Christine Warrens "Other Series" Love Them....

not a deep read, but quick and entertaining
The romance btwn the 2 main characters is the primary motivation for this book. The secondary plot only causes very minor issues to arise that impede their romance. The main focus on this book are the sex scenes, which makes it not a romantic novel, and is somewhat predictable in the aspect of their romance as it follows typical supernatural trends.

Pricey for an ebook
I bought the ebook, which was $7.99. Kind of expensive, most of the time the ebook is a little cheaper than the paperback. I've read most of this series now and while I've enjoyed the stories they are a little inconsistent from book to book and in most of the books the subplots are left unresolved. That said, I love the creativity behind the story and they are a quick read.

Love the Wolfman, Vampire, Jaguar! !Oh, My !!
Great stories, wonderful characters, terrific fun. "The Others" are fun, different and leave you wanting more. Good series and Christine Warren weaves an intriguing tale. "Misha" is a cool vampire and wins his mate with flair. Sexy alpha Vamp meets his mate, and the sparks fly. The series really knows how to develop the relationships.Well written, fun, and interesting.ENJOY !!!

Good book. Great author.
Plot is rolling, the story sets up for a series but is easily a stand alone as well. I started with 2 other books in the series, none were in written order and I had no issues correlating what was happening. The book is set up for a paranormal community, so don't expect vampire stories in the others. Witches, shape shifters, faeries and others appear.Editing is very good.

errrrrr...
Having read all of Christine Warren's books in the Other series, I am familiar with the varying standart of each book in the series. While Warren can write funny, sexy and entertaining books, she has written some fairly crappy books as well."One Bite With A Stranger" could have worked, if Warren had made it into an erotic short story. The main part of the books consists of sex, and while some authors can make that work for their books, this one gets dull and drawn out. Warren is simply not a good erotic fiction writer.Parts of the book are really okay and it does have its funny moments, but it is drowned by the ridiculous plot, and how ridiculously it is used in the book. But most importantly, any redeeming parts of the book are forgotten, as the book just drags on and on, carried by that aforementioned ridiculous plot.Anyone considering buying this book should think carefully and read the reviews of the book before spending money on it. All the other instalments in the Other series are way better.

ONE BITE TAKES A NOSE DIVE
I'm a huge fan of Christine Warren, but I have to say, this was one of her more disappointing endeavours. The book takes so long to get going that I nearly got bored and closed it - the only thing that stopped me was the fact that most of her other books have been so good. The characters, though believable, are left behind by a very weak storyline that often seems to go nowhere. I was left feeling a little flat after reading it.My pet hate when reading a Warren book is her love of using the 'C' word so often it makes me cringe - completely unnecessary. Call me old fashioned, but there are plenty of other names for the female anatomy - and I found it offputting. Honestly, compared to other authors writing paranormal romance at the moment - this just doesn't cut it for me.

Good
I feel like it has a great story line, great characters but it is missing something! for the price it is i though it would be better. I feel that it ran a littkle dry at the end. However it is still a good book. Just not something i could reread.
