Poor Quality
This item was purchased to replace Arc Tomato Slicer (™) that was showing its age. Bad decision on my part not purchasing the same item. This item has several major flaws most of which are two important: 1) space between teeth are not sufficient for most knives and 2) you most apply pressure to keep the tomato, etc. positioned. There is a band that applies counter-pressure to keep the slicer open while the user is applying pressure to hold the tomato for slicking, not ideal for slicing. I would not recommend this slicer to a friend.

MAJOR FLAW
as the jaws expand the slats (tines) no longer line up. You cannot slice straight from one side to the other. You could only use this to slice very small round fruit/veggies about the size of those little oranges. Hard boiled eggs, maybe. I snapped one of my ceramic knives off in it.

I would not give it as a gift.
Difficult to use, does not make a complete cut and quite messy.

Poor design
In my opinion, It should have been designed to cut completely through the vegetable, like a tomato, only cuts 3/4 through.

Doesn,t work, too small for tomatoes I buy. Can not cut all the way through.

DIDN'T WORK FOR ME
All it is is plastic and the grooves are dull and don't bite into the tomato. I three this away in the garbage. Waste of money!

Excellent I am looked for long time it's easy and fast and you can use to cut where ever you want it.
