Good Picture Quality- Complex to Set Up
Fairly easy to set up but quite a learning process without any real instructions. A lengthy process to find them on line and print off.The Magic Controller has lots of unusual functions. Detected plugged in items like a Freeview recorder and a DVD player. A coaxial socket enables an aerial lead to be plugged in. Lots more to learn and fiddle with. Good picture and sound. Great value as well.

Good TV - Sound is excellent and a good clear colourful picture.
Good value when I purchased in sale. Really impressed with quality and display. Nice colours and the sound is excellent.

Great picture, sound is ok.
Great picture and value for money. The only issue I have is the sound isn’t fantastic. It’s fine, just missing some bass or clarity compared to my old tv. There are lots of sound and picture settings so maybe it can be configured better. The controller is pretty handy, allowing you to control connected devices such as sky tv. WiFi connected quickly and easily too.

Excellent quality NON reflective screen.
Firstly this TV has a NON reflective screen, it is not ' glassy ' or 'very reflective' as were the answers given to me, (well certainly not on the 2020 model) when I posted question asking about the screen's reflectivness as the TV was going in a light room the answers initially given put me off buying this product, however on a recent visit to Currys I checked the TV out for myself & found otherwise. 1. Firstly, TV purchased 49NANO866NA (2020 model). From recieving the TV to turning it on took about 15 mins,in essence it was very easy to put the stand on & getting it ready to tune in. 2. The 'Magic remote control' is extremley user friendly & having read many reviews about the remote I can also agree it is excellent, easy to get menus up on screen & & able to go straight to any app/sub menu there. 3. The TV took seconds to tune in to my Sky box & freeview channels, even you Technophobes out there shouldn't have any trouble getting this TV up & running in no time. 4. The picture quality is excellent, there a several different modes to choose from, the TV is automatically preset to eco mode & I would recommend changing this mode straight away ( I'm finding 'Game' mode to be best suited for myself, although I'm not a gamer). 5. Watching sports on this TV is amazing, the clarity, definition & depth of the picture makes you feel as if you were sitting in the front row of the stadium being played. 6. I'm not going to comment about the sound as I have a Bose soundbar into the TV & to be quite frank the TV is not going to make a better sound on it's own. 7. As noted in other reviews this TV has no catch up app (iplayer etc). I feel this is of little/no consequence as its usually built in to modern set top boxes & DVD players etc, & who wants to watch catch up repeats of the utter drivel they show on the BBC anyway. 8. To Summarize this is Top notch quality TV, amazing picture, great for light rooms & has superb funtionality. I had my last TV for 10 years (Sony LCD) & it didn't miss a beat once, however I feel Sony couldn't offer me all the functions I needed on my new TV & with the very ugly 'Ice skate' stands they have on this years models I'd also find them very hard to live with. So the only issue left to answer is longevity of the set ( I will keep you posted on this), having had my last set for 10 faultless years this TV has some big boots to fill which this set has already started doing by the bucket full. Don't hesitate just buy & you will not be disappointed.

Excellent tv for the price
I bought this primarily for my PS5 for 120 hz and for my PC using an AMD graphics card for Freesync which it uses Freesync Premium. Using the PS5 for me the picture is excellent using game mode, all the colours look spot on but needs a bit of time to go through all the settings to get it right. It won't let you use Bluetooth headphones while in game mode but to solve that I plugged my headphones into the Dual sense controller. Using the Blu Ray player I could use my Bluetooth headphones while turning off game mode and the best settings for me was Expert Picture mode (bright for light on and dark for light off) and the picture was great and the sound was brilliant, much better than playing the same film through Disney Plus (I watched Star Wars) I also tried WRC9 and having Performance option enabled on PS5 for games (Saved Data and Game/App Settings then Game Presets and Performance Mode or Resolution Mode) it automatically played in 120hz which was great (first time playing more than 60hz) Using my PC I went into Home Dashboard to change it to PC mode (recommended for using a PC) The picture was great in both Game and Cinema picture modes (for playing games and watching films) Going through the settings I turned on Freesync and through the AMD app on my PC I put it onto VRR which worked well while playing games. I did notice that while in Freesync Wide mode even if I had set Instant Game Response to off it kept working so I had to change the option to High to stop it. Using the apps that came with the TV I used Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime. Using Netflix and Disney Plus I noticed that the best Picture Mode was Cinema Home and the picture looked great with Dolby Vision and using Amazon Prime to get the best picture I had to change Picture Mode to Cinema for the best picture. Out of the box I noticed that the picture looked a bit bright so doing some googling for the best picture settings I found the recommended settings from LG which were as follows: For Vivid (natural light) just leave it as it is For Standard: (artificial light) Backlight 80 Contrast 85 Brightness 50 Sharpness 25 Colour 50 Tint 0 For Cinema: (dark room) Backlight 80 Contrast 85 Brightness 50 Sharpness 10 Colour 50 Tint 0 For Cinema Home have it same as Cinema and when you either watch things in Dolby Vision (Netflix and Disney Plus) or HDR 10 (Amazon Prime) if you have set them they should change automatically each time you use each app. I had read other reviews for this TV that wrote a lot about blooming while using the magic control and watching streaming apps and to stop it from happening I just turned local dimming to off and there was no blooming so I'm happy because that was the only thing I read that put me off buying it but thought I'd take a chance anyway. I really like the magic control as it is so easy to use, just wave it around to see the curser on the screen and leave it and it turns itself off. Everything on this TV is fast and responsive and not slow and annoying like another TV I had owned, I really love this TV and I'm happy with my purchase. I bought this TV from a market place seller for £100 cheaper in good as new condition and it seems brand new so I got a great deal.

Would not recommend
Arrived, set up relatively easy. I would say though that it is very slow, I was replacing my 8-year-old Smart LG TV, because I thought a new one would be quicker, it was not it was even slower! After just a few hours watching and using the streaming apps, the whole system stopped working with a repeating message saying the app was closing to make more memory space. This just would not go away; you could not use any app as nothing worked other than any streaming service you had on the remote. In my case limited to Prime. I did all the usual, then decided to just leave the TV off and read, after being off overnight, and for another 15 hours, it still was exactly the same. LG electronics were no help at all, they said there was a problem they were aware of, and they would get back to me, which they did two and half days later! by which time I had been in touch with Amazon since the TV was not fit for purpose. LG then sent a text, just telling me to do all of the things I had already done, really!! what a waste of time they were, they could not even be bothered to call. In the meantime, Amazon had picked up the faulty TV for refund or replacement. Thank you, Amazon for your brilliant service and for keeping my stress levels down. I was not impressed having paid for a TV that would not work and is clearly faulty, Amazon just made it all go away.

Great image quality
This tv is an odd-sized 50" diagonal rather than the more common 49" This might make comparisons with other models of a different size tricky. But if necessary, pay the extra to get this instead of a 49" model. 49" is very close to 1.25m, which might be why it's popular in the metric market, 55" is equally close to 1.40m, so not sure if 50" at 1.27m is just a size aimed at countries still on the old feet and inches scales - the US and UK. The image quality from directly in front of it is great, blacks are black and not dark grey for example, and fine details in HD channels are excellent. Closeups of a face show lots of details. The quality decreases as you move to the side, and at 45degrees left and right of centre it has dropped noticeably. The same is true if you walk up to the screen - which means the vertical 45degree view is not as good, so don't mount it high on a wall to look up at. I have it sitting on a small table and by a bit of luck centre screen is at head level, so I get all the quality. These viewing angles are not a real problem unless you have a big family spread around the room trying to watch tv. But from the front and centre seats, it is really good! I had problems with the screen flashing for several minutes when first switched on, but I found I had a spare never used HDMI cable that was still wrapped up, and swapping to that totally removed the problem. So bare this in mind if yours flashes a lot at start-up. It's the cable that's at fault, as some online sites suggested. The magic controller is pretty good, a quick wave left and right, and the pointer appears on the screen, ready to use like a big mouse controller. Like almost every TV, there are several colour settings and a bit of fine-tuning works wonders. Avoid the "Vivid" mode - I've never seen a tv that benefitted from the glaring vivid mode. And my Amazon FireStick gives some excellent image quality, as do Youtube videos that are in 4K mode. I've added my id info for BBC iPlayer too and that works well too. But I can't get it to accept my amazon settings, hence the use of the FireStick. It keeps taking me to Amazon USA to add them, which doesn't seem to like my UK username and password. Overall I am very pleased with this TV, and the value for money is excellent. Bigger models and some other manufacturers nearest equivalent model can cost a lot more. As you are going to spend your time looking at the screen, it is always best to pay for quality screens, and this one is good. It's surprisingly light to move around. Not bulky at all.
