He never outgrows them, he destroys them. I know he plays footie at break times but I honestly have no idea how he manages to break every pair of shoes he gets (sometimes with a month). So we thought we’d give these a try because of their 12 month guarantee. So far so good, he’s worn them three times so far and they still look just like they did out of the box. I can’t speak for their durabity at this point as he hasn’t had them long enough... but previous shoes have been known to show signs of damage after this period of time so I’m hopeful. I can’t give 5 stars for two reasons: 1). Haven’t had them long enough to provide a proper review. 2) The delivery. Although they were dispatched very quickly and arrived well before the expected due date, the shoes were unceremoniously dumped over my garden gate (in the pouring rain) and into a massive puddle. Thankfully the shoe box itself was wrapped in some very thick clear plastic although that didnt stop the box becoming a bit soggy. The delivery company was DX so I can’t blame Treads however wanted others to be aware of how the shoes may be delivered. Update (after four months of school wear) Without question the best and most durable pair of school shoes I’ve ever bought. They are still in almost perfect condition and after a quick polish today, they look as good as new meaning we don’t have to buy new shoes for the new school year. Amazing and i will definitely be buying again when needed. Review: Hope they eventually make it to school - These shoes look good and sturdy and I’m certain they will be great if the schools ever open again. Just my luck to order these to arrive just before the latest lockdown and by the time we open up again he will have grown out of them. But the look good and came nicely presented and they delivered them on the date promised., just should have bought him slippers or a bottle of gin for my wife to get us through home schooling.

Good externally but internals need some work.
Great shoes on the outside but the inner sole comes out whenever the kids take their shoes off plus on the inside tongue the sewing is too thick and irritated the tops of both boys feet so I had to hack into it to trim it down - really difficult to access and probably invalidated the warranty. Will probably buy again though.

Great value but quality and fit not compromised.
I'm always on the lookout for shoes that look like they will be hard wearing. These had the added bonus of being suitable for wide feet. Its not an easy combination to find, I usually have to go up a size to accommodate for the width. So my son has been wearing them for coming up to a week now. He's walked to school in them and cycled and I've had no complaints from him. I usually spend around £50, so these were very good value. I definitely recommend and will be buying again.

Good company but keep your receipt
Keep your proof of purchase as they do not last a year. One of my sons goes through them every 4 months (hole appears in the same spot). Good thing is the company give one replacement so I get about 8 months out of a purchase. The one year guarantee only covers one replacement.

Buckle broke within days
We were perfectly happy with the shoe, which was comfortable and looked like a good quality shoe until the buckle the Velcro strap goes through broke in the second week of use. On close inspection the buckle is not made of metal but flimsy plastic, so it’s not surprising it didn’t last. Still trying to get it returned with no success so far but I suspect that’s due to the useless courier service employed by Amazon/ the retailer rather than the actual retailer’s fault.

AMAZING shoes
AMAZING I'm a parent that's had to buy a £20 pair of shoes once a month as my 11 year old manages to destroy his shoes at school like magic! These he's now had for 7 months and there still together there not perfect but there the best iv ever bought and the size increasing feature is a great idea although we haven't used it yet! If your struggling to decide Buy you won't regret it A******

Heres hoping
I love the look of the shoes, the weight of the shoes (seem very sturdy) and the promise that come with the shoes. My youngster can make new shoes look like trash after 2 weeks so 12 months would be magnificent. Its unlikely that he will stay the same shoe size for that period but the shoes are dual fitting so plenty of room for growth. I will try and remember to update.
