Nichrome 80-250' - 36 Gauge Wire - 250ft - 0.13mm - 0.005in - Made in USA - Master Wire Supply

I used this wire to make a foam cutter for other DIY projects (mostly for insulating a keezer). It was well-suited for the job, able to turn electricity into heat to create a precise "blade" that's perfect for foam. With a little practice, the resulting cuts are as straight and smooth as the factory edges. This length will be plenty for most hobbyists like me -- I wasted a bit getting my setup right, but once I figured it out, I was able to use the same short piece to do the entire job -- So it's a good value.

Used for rebuilding juul pods. Works pretty well.

It is very thin wire; 36 gauge wire is five-thousandths of an inch in diameter. The wire is bright and shiny and I feel no pits when I pull it through my fingers. I stretched about 6 inches between the alligator clips of a lab power supply set at 12 volts. It pulled about 900ma which means for that length of wire (eye-balled not measured) resistance is about 13 ohms. It glowed bright red. Note that wire increases in resistance as it is heated so this measurement will be higher than with an ohmmeter. I wrapped it around a pair of needle-nose pliers and pulled until it gave way. It required a few pounds of tension. Easily strong enough to use to cut Styrofoam, my opinion. I don't think copper will like the heat of a direct connection. For cutting Styrofoam, I think I would wrap it around a small length of steel wire and then push it through a steel butt connector and clamp it tight. Then attach the copper wire to the steel wire.

I have not had any trouble at all with the Nichrome spool that I purchased. Ended up using it to make a foam cutter. It is able to take 50 amps without melting or snapping briefly, and is stable at 10 amps / 12v. Works well for what I bought it for.

this wire worked well in conjunction with the remote apparatus.

Made plenty of coils out of this wire .... so far ......i havnt died ?

Using for building 26 x 26 x 36 coils works well and 250 for 10 bucks is cheap
