Brilliant storytelling!
An enjoyable and entertaining mystery! The story and characters developed really well. My favourite character by far was Kenta and the thoughtful detail about supporting characters was appreciated. It’s been educational to read about an international school and the inclusivity this novel offers is unique.Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Curse in Kyoto
A thoroughly enjoyable and fast-paced mystery story. It's quite a light read, but it's very engaging and I'll definitely be picking up the next one in the series.

a bit boring
Started off ok but got a bit bored with un-necessary detail which seemed to be there to pad out the story. I stuck with it as I had recently been to Kyoto but I won’t be buying the second book

Gripping tale
Instantly I was transported to this world of Jessica and Kenta piecing clue by clue to discover who was down to an elaborate plot, it was interesting and easy to read with a thrill of what could happen next. I didn’t want to put this book down and look forward to book 2 coming in August!

Could not put the book down!
Heard of the book in FB. Read the first page and was intrigued! Great plot. The twists and turns will keep you guessing how it will turn out. Did not see it coming! I love the way the protagonist are introduced to us and how the foundation of their relationship is being built. Cannot wait for book 2!

Exciting and made me want to keep reading till the end.
Loved the style of writing and also the descriptors of being in a British school in Japan. Very realistic - brought back memories if my high school years. Waiting to read more from thus author.

An enjoyable young adult mystery, but…
Having lived in Japan, I thought the descriptions of places and customs were pretty accurate, and the plot kept me interested. However, if the author is going to use phrases from the Japanese language, he needs to have someone check them. “Hello” on the phone is “moshi-moshi,” not “mushi-mushi,” which would mean “bug-bug.” Other phrases were similarly just a bit “off.”

Loved it!
I'm already marking my calendar for when the next one comes out. Loved the premise, the suspense in the story, the setting, and the characters. Really looking forward to see how the dynamic between Kenta and Jessica develops. Loved that the author could use his unique background to write a story with an authentic touch.I found this book through Reedsy Discovery but purchased it during a promo on Amazon. Highly recommend!
