As time goes by phones seem to have fewer and fewer features. It wasn't that long ago that all phones had headphone jacks, user replaceable batteries, storage card slots, infrared emitters for controlling TVs and other electronics, radio tuners to listen to AM/FM radio, front facing stereo speakers, etc. I've been OK with losing most of this functionality, but I dislike bluetooth headphones as they need charging and can more easily be lost, and I HATE having a hole in my screen for a front facing camera. This phone has a tiny camera in the nearly non-existent bezel on top. I will never understand needing the extra 1/16 of an inch so much that you're OK with a notch or a hole. This phone has a slot for extra storage. It has no hole in the screen. It has stereo speakers. The three rear facing cameras are very good. There are features like telephoto macro that allow you to get incredible close-up shots that I never even knew came on this phone until I started playing around with it. The telephoto lens also goes to over 7x optically plus up to 21x with digital zoom. The regular 1x lens also has a macro feature, and is very good in low light applications. The screen resolution was reduced from the previous version, but there really isn't any way you would know unless you read the specs. Unless you are a heavy user the battery can last for days between charging. The only downsides are that this phone isn't the cheapest, and if you are in the US it doesn't have all of the standard 5g bands available. I am quite happy with this purchase.

DO NOT BUY IN THE USA. Read carefully, because I want to stress that this is a great phone for those outside the US and Canada. The camera quality and function is top notch and a perfect blend of manual control and quick snaps. I've never had a phone with such good speakers, it kind of reminds me of a Bluetooth speaker box. Screen quality great. Been with Samsung for the last several note series phones and this phone steps up the functions and specs while also having an SD card slot and headphone jack. It also can't be said enough how much the small but not extinct top and bottom bezel is appreciated. I've not once hit the screen on accident like I did in the Samsungs. But.... I'm having to return it because the mark 1vi isn't released for the US and Canada. Turns out that means no 5g connection (which was good for me cause it sucks around here) and no Bluetooth phone capability. It would say it's connected but it wouldn't work. U can Bluetooth music but not make phone calls through BT. According to Sony we could expect issues with Wi-Fi connections but I can say I never had an issue connecting to and using Wi-Fi. Hopefully Sony releases the mark 1vii to the US, I love the design changes between the last years 5 and this year's model 6. If you're outside of the US or Canada I would highly recommend this phone.

Although not officially supported by Verizon, it's working fine with a Verizon sim card that I took from my previous phone. That said, I have no idea how well 5G works since there are no 5G towers in my area. This phone is bigger than I'd like, but that seems to be the case for many phones these days. Great battery life and great camera too! Bluetooth connectivity can be flaky at times. E.g. my audio book player (Audible) will randomly stop, though it's not clear to me whether that's due to the App or the phone. When using Google assistant, I only occasionally hear the assistant's response via my bluetooth headphones. I got it working briefly, but it hasn't worked since. I never had that particular problem with my old Samsung (S11e) phone. Again, it could be due to operator error, but I've tried really hard to find a solution.

An incredible cell phone

Firstly, I am using this phone on AT&T without any issues in service. But the requirement is that I'm using an unchanged Sim from the previous phone which att has approved (website thinks I'm still using that phone and keeps giving me an option to upgrade). - Signal quality/ reliability; same as the previous phone. - 5G; no clue, I didn't subscribe to that plan and my area doesn't have it. So, no loss. - Bluetooth; connects to headphones/ speakers/ earbuds/ OBD2 sensor/ etc without issue - Wi-Fi; fast and has band 7 - Camera; doesn't have the over-enhancements of Samsung, but the signal-to-noise ratio is higher - Biometric login; fast and accurate - Battery; accubattery rates it at 98% capacity, which results in 16 hrs on, 67 hrs off, 40 hrs combined. - Screen; 1080x2340 (396 ppi), pixels are not countable unless you've got your face closer than 2" from the screen. For reference, my previous device was 550 ppi - Interactions (ux); instant response without lag or studder - Root; fast and painless Final notes, I highly recommend rooting and getting "AccA battery" to stop charging at 80% and based on temp, if you care about the longevity of this device.

I purchased this phone from another selling site. Its a great phone. It does work in the US. You will want to go to Reddit to see how to change the bands . But after you do that the phone works fine in the US. I missed micro SD and headphone jack on my phones. Sure they are on mid range phones, bit I love flagships. This phone is awesome. The battery life is amazing. I have the 500 GB ROM storage and I put a 1.5TB micro SD card in the phone. I like music, videos, emulation and lots of pictures. I understand I'm the rare power user, but this phones is what I like to do all those things on. Calls are clear and wi-fi works perfectly. Emulation is very effective on it and rarely heats up if at all. I recommend this phone, if you are a power user or high media user. It doesn't have the 7 year warranty of a Samsung or Google. Its only 3 with 4 years security. That's the only reason why this is a 4 star phone. Wish I could give an extra half star. You will not have all the Samsung or Google apps installed in the phone either, if your use to that stuff. This is a bare Android experience. However, You can always go to the play store and download most Google phone Apps, if you want a familiarity experience . The phone is expensive, but I know what I want in a phone and willing to pay for it. My closing sentence is this. If you like media, you need this phone for storage and headphone jack. The phone functions are fine and the camera.. Well I'm still learning it but it seems fun so far. Great phone. IF only Sony gave better incentives to buy it. Like make it have special features with the PS5 or 6. Have better marketing events. Highlight the media features to this device and how they make life easier. Do what Apple does by creating a ecosystem or Owning experience for the device. Make it the foundation to be a bonus support for you other devices . Sony has a winner here , but needs to market it better. Perhaps if these phones sell more, we can get our Micro SD and jack back into our phones. Device rating 8.9/10

Es un excelente smarthpone, es justamente lo que buscaba, incluso me impreciona con sus funciones que eh descubierto en el poco tiempo que llevo usándolo, su barra lateral de accesos rápidos, como el ajuste del brillo, el Bluetooth, linterna, también veo que muchos se quejaban del sensor de huella lateral qué tenían problemas para bloquear y desbloquear pero a mi me funciona de maravilla, creo que más bien no entienden el concepto de Sony, me hace sentir que tengo una pieza exclusiva, que no encontrarás en ningún otro lugar o marca, estoy fascinado lo recomiendo mucho. En cuanto a el paquete venía muy bien protegido y sellado, tenia sus sellos en orden, la camara es una maravilla, sabiéndolo configurar es lo que buscaba, y por si fuera poco trajo de regalo en mi caso su funda original, es un 100 de 10
