Good bang for your buck!
As a master automotive technician with over 23 years of hands-on experience majority of my day to day involves in diagnostic work. I'm always on the lookout for tools that make the job more efficient and accurate. The V210 has quickly earned a spot among my daily go to diagnostic tools, especially when it comes to chasing down wiring issues like open or short circuits. Recently, I had a vehicle with an open fuse issue caused by an alternator wire that had broken at the connector and was shorting to ground. Using the V210, I was able to quickly pinpoint the issue without any guesswork. The process was smooth and painless, this tool made a potentially time consuming job quick and straightforward. What sets the V210 apart is its simplicity and effectiveness. It’s compact, easy to use, and extremely helpful for electrical diagnostics. If you do any kind of wiring or circuit work, this is one of those tools that will absolutely save you time and headaches. With all that being said, I do have two suggestions/recommendations that I hope the manufacturer considers in a future update: Continuity Testing with Audible Tone, Currently, the tool uses an LED indicator for continuity checks. Adding an audible tone would allow users to hear confirmation without needing to keep their eyes on the device, especially helpful in cramp areas like under dash or when working alone. Receiver LED Indicator: The receiver unit relies solely on an audible beep, which can be difficult to hear in a noisy shop environment. Adding an LED visual indicator would make the tool more accessible, especially for those who may be hard of hearing or working in loud areas. Overall the V210 is a highly capable and user-friendly tool that’s already proven its worth in my daily workflow. With a couple of small improvements, it could be nearly perfect. I highly recommend it to any tech who regularly works with vehicle electrical systems and it's very affordable!

A Simple Tool to Use to Find Automotive Electrical Opens and Shorts.
This is an inexpensive and awesome tool to find electrical shorts or open circuits in automotive circuitry. The key to making this electrical device work correctly is to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS a few times as to familiarize how this tool works efficiently / properly. Remember to always shut off the transmitter and the sensing wand. Does not have auto shut off. Will drain the 9-volt batteries if you are not paying attention. Another point that should be noted and corrected by the manufacturer, the battery compartment was designed too small to fit the average 9-volt battery. Had to use Dremel to grind away the 4 light blue handle tabs protruding into the battery compartment. Needed to grind them back about 0.050 and also grind another 0.025 from the very bottom end of battery compartment because the 9-volt black plastic connecter cap is too thick when connected to the battery and makes impossible to fit any battery into the battery compartment. ... But other than that, ... is an awesome diagnostic tool to have!

A must have diagnostic tool for anyone doing Automotive repairs.
If you're a professional Auto technician or a do it yourselfer, this is a very inexpensive tool that you should have in your toolbox. I have used it several times and it's saves me lot's of time in finding a broken wire in a harness on vehicles. Takes the guess work out of wiring shorts and faulty wiring harnesses. The sound is adjustable "handy with ambient shop or vehicle noise" It's accurate, easy to use Led is bright and easy to see . Pays for itself the first time you use it. With late model vehicles basically being a big computer with many electronic controls in order to operate everything in the vehicle, on a broken wire of any length or a short can make it hard to diagnose a problem, A good scan tool might not discern a a break in a wire or harness, and show a code. So this enables you to find out why your getting a fault code, when the real problem isn't the sensor or control, but the communication from the ECM to the control due to a break in the wire. This company also has a large line of great testing equipment to work with this probe. You owe it to yourself to check them out. I made my purchase on Amazon, so if I didn't like the tool or had a problem with it, it's no problem because I could have returned it. Sorry that I didn't take any photos, but the instructions that come with the tool are straight forward and easy to understand. Plus there are videos on you tube and such on these tools. Hope that this helps you out. Keep spinning those wrenches and making $$. God Bless

Handy little tracer for the price
I picked up the VDIAGTOOL V210 mostly for basic automotive electrical diagnostics, and for the price it’s actually performed better than I expected. It’s lightweight, easy to set up, and the included 9V batteries are a nice touch so you can use it right out of the box. I’ve used it to trace a couple of open and short circuits on 12V car wiring, and the tone/LED indicators work pretty well once you get used to adjusting the sensitivity. The probe is flexible enough to reach tighter spots, and I was able to follow wiring harnesses without stripping insulation, which saved a lot of time. The tool isn’t perfect — the signal can be faint at times if the wire is shielded or buried deep in a harness, so you have to reposition the probe and tweak the sensitivity knob. It also seems to depend heavily on having fresh batteries. But once you figure out how it likes to be used, it becomes a pretty reliable helper for DIY troubleshooting. Overall, for around twenty bucks, it’s a solid little wire tracer that does what it claims. Great for hobbyists and good enough for most everyday automotive and small DC electrical work.

It's so and so
3 star to be fair. It won't help much tho as the sound signal is not that clear if there is a short circuit. If it randomly sounds alarm.... what good is it.

Great purchase
It works and does what its supposed to. Its definitely accurate and you can hear the tone of it for sure. Used on 2018 ford mustang, 2018 VW tiguan. It surprisingly works. Great purchase.

Good tool for the price.
I am updating my rating because the seller updated the description. Even though this item was supplied to me for leaving a review, the price is awesome for what this can do. If you are tracing wires looking for a "break" in the line, this tool works great. Using the continuity test on the transmitter alone will tell you if the wire is shorted to ground. You'll have to fine the short on your own. Below is my original review. I think it will help you decide if this is what your looking for. I've been working on cars for over 40 years and professionally installing and repairing 2-way radio systems and emergency lights in vehicles for over 35 years. "Shorts" and "Opens" happen once in a while and finding them can be an issue. I was asked to try this tool and found it to be just like the fox and hound telephone tool for tracing circuits except that there is no sensitivity adjustment on this model. Even though the instruction say how to set the sensitivity, its just a volume control. Upon testing this unit I found it helpful with tracing a wire path. However, the wire must be "open" and not connected to any load. If it is grounded in anyway (like a light bulb or voltage probe), the signal is also grounded. The wire must be separated from any harness it may be in at the point of test. If it is among other wires (like a harness) the signal will be lost and not picked up by the receiver. It works great for following a single wire that is disconnected from any load but if you're looking for an "open" the load is already disconnected, so for this instance, the tool works well. As far as finding a short (which is more common than finding an "open"), the tool only tells you that the cable "is" shorted if the resistance is below 10k ohms, It doesn't help you find the short. The tool I use for finding shorts is this, https://www.amazon.com/Tool-Aid-25100-Short-Tester/dp/B000RFLR0U/ref=sr_1_15?crid=1LWSBFPF4EATY&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.dk9jzsk7AklzpW67YWuSfvJBOOJB1kvQsahd4v-RPD4njmPoXv2WqdObHYt6kxhtUjXoZSQ2IfObBT4GgJEwygFsWJMGtmbYJUrjY8y54RCeb0VpxdmtTDNrXAMisMiX8RvztVk78eZ5msziRn7IwKdwDvtj-7i3-20v4bZ97axA2wSaTSL39fR1mJ_GNIe1D_hzhdnBOqmg3WPYTUW-su0CR8oPMjUzWLzs27-lkQ8e6iPChbGcW31FQdXQf9mROl4n_VfJ1X6mFEVtINXeP-96Nr5_UjxnsFBHiG_2lzc.adG6ka4fwFjragSlkJrmQAgI--gIXwGWE3MsWy4CwFE&dib_tag=se&keywords=automotive+short+finder&qid=1732200540&sprefix=automotive+short+finde%2Caps%2C683&sr=8-15&ufe=INHOUSE_INSTALLMENTS%3AUS_IHI_3M_HARDLINES_AUTOMATED I also tried using this tool for troubleshooting Christmas lights. I thought I could follow the tone to the bad bulb but because the wires are twisted together like a harness, it didn't work for that either. Every wire had a tone on it just from inductance from being so close to the wire under test. Back to automotive. I tried following an emergency light wire that was in the same cable with 3 other wires. All four wires would pick up the "tone" from the transmitter all the way through the cable. If I shorted any of the 4 wires to ground, the signal would disappear, even from the wire under test. So, unless you know the exact wire you want to trace and find a "break or open", this tool may lead you in the wrong direction. I can see this tool being handy in some situations but if you are a serious trouble shooter or mechanic I would use other methods of finding open's and shorts. Also, some circuits can test fine until you put a load on them due to a weak connection or corroded wire. This tool requires you to remove all loads on that circuit for this tester to work. So the fault will not be found without a load. Always start your troubleshooting with a good visual inspection

Very useful and easy to learn tool. Saves hours of work
Very useful tool. You can find breaks and test for continuity in wiring easily. The V210 is an easy to use system and it is simple. You get the hang of it almost instantly after using it your first time. To check for continuity in a while all you do is connect the two prongs on each end of the same wire you are testing, and set the transmitter to CONT. if the light turns green, you have continuity. To find a break in your wiring, you simply set the transmitter to TONE and put one prong on one end of the wire you are testing with any power and loads removed, and you use the receiver to follow the wiring harness down until the tone/jingle it is setting off stops playing and cuts off or goes very quick. That will tell you exactly where the break is. I will be using this tool as much as I can. I have already used it on a 2023 Toyota RAV4 that came in because it had a break in one of the wires for the front radar from a prior collision. Traced the harness back and found the break in no time. 5 stars to this tool.

Worked great
Worked as expected. First use was chasing an electrical fault on a modified industrial vehicle with no available diagrams. Saved a lot of time not having to chase wires or open the loom.
