Taste The taste is excellent. I enjoyed it so much that I ate the entire packet in one sitting. It's just as nice hot as it is cold. Texture The texture is great and closely resembles black rice, but tastier, making it a satisfying alternative. Value for Money I originally planned to split the packet between two meals, but I enjoyed it so much that I finished it all at once. Keto-Friendly Alternative As someone following a keto diet, I wish I had discovered this product years ago. It's a great alternative to regular rice and works well alongside cauliflower rice. Shelf Life The product has a 15-month shelf life, which is a useful bonus. Overall Opinion I'm very pleased with this product. The taste, texture and quality are all excellent. My only criticism is that it contains organic cane sugar, I'm trying to reduce both carbohydrates and sugar, so this will be an occasional purchase rather than a regular one. I'll be looking for similar alternatives that are completely sugar-and sweetener free.👍

Very expensive, 5 times cost of basmati, it’s a stick rice that sort of clumps together, very nice nutty earthy taste. Completely full of nutrients much more than any other rice. If you afford it, then definitely give then a try. I’ve bought several times because of health benefits alone.

Although they are a bit pricey, this beautiful rice is an eye-opener. Okay, they're not bright purple – but I didn't really expect them to be. However, what I most certainly didn't expect was their unique taste. This is by far the most delicious rice I've ever eaten. You could steam a bowl of it and quite happily eat it on its own – without any salt or soy sauce even. Truly the lord of all rice.

This rice is full of health benefits so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s organic so it would have been my first choice. After rinsing it’s worth soaking the rice in little water for about 20 mins then mix it with some jasmine rice. My ratio is 1/3 cup of purple rice to a cup of jasmine rice. The quality of the grain is amazing and it cooks in about 15 mins if soaked enough. If in a rush I use the pressure cooker. You really need a small amount so it lasts long, definitely worth the money.

I liked the original version, but felt that the coconut version was a bit dry. That said it is great to see more interesting rice varieties available in a convenient form.

Taste very coarse and chewy. Alleged to be healthy and a super food. Pricey, for a family. But would purchase again infrequently,

We bought some of this as there is a bit of a 'purple food is a superfood', push, currently. The rice was a quality product. It smelled of black tea while cooking. But, It took bloomin ages to cook! way way waaay longer than basmatti. Which for me is a big no- thank you (electricity/cost/steam in house). The texture is a bit like wholegrain rice. It looked yummy but sadly didn't taste as good as it looked for me. So wouldn't buy it again.

I'm about to say something i never imagined I'd be saying, but holy cow this is an interesting and delicious rice. I throw this in my budget rice cooker set for long grain, and in less than an hour of cook time, I have a rice that is an incredibly nutritious complement to nearly any meal, that is also both delicious and affordable! The grain size is perfect, the taste is complex and nutty, and the color is analysis striking. Could not be more satisfied with this rice. I made shrimp scampi tossed with tangy fresh hibiscus flowers for some guests recently, and THE RICE got more comments than the plump, perfectly cooked shrimp.
