Great scope for the price. Perfect for rifle-length AR15s
Mounted this to my 20" AR-15. It pairs extremely well with the rifle-length barrel and full stock. It looks perfect on the rifle, but also has the perfect amount of magnification power for my purposes. I felt that a 3-9x was too much power, and a 1-4 or 1-6x was not enough, and also the 1-6x are too expensive for my budget AR15 build. To make up for the lack of a 1x magnification, I opted to add canted iron sights to the rifle. This gives me the ability to be accurate at really any range the rifle is capable of. This 2-7x is perfect, it is clear at all magnifications, and I really like the reticle. I also love the fact that it is not illuminated, my AR is already heavy enough as is, and didn't want to add unnecessary weight. I am not doing anything extreme with the rifle, and didn't need some optic that cost me same as the whole rifle did. This is a great budget scope with a clear sight picture and the right eye relief for an AR. It's a high quality scope and the best one I have personally owned. My dad has a Leupold on his hunting rifle, and while I can see the benefit and improvements, I personally can't justify spending a huge amount more on a Leupold for the slight gains in performance. For those wondering, I used UTG 1" High Profile scope mounts to mount this scope. The Medium Profile does work, but it was a bit too close to the rifle for comfort. I found it was easier to get the proper eye relief and sight picture with the High Profile mounts. With the medium, I felt like my face was jammed against my stock just to look through the scope. I will update this review with pictures of the rifle later.

Great scope for the price. Awesome for airsoft.
This is being used on an airsoft gun (KJW KC02) so I can't really test the BDC or if it holds zero or anything like that. I can say that the scope is fairly light. Feels lighter than my UTG 1-4.5x. The glass is fantastically clear and it's hard to even tell you're looking through glass. The magnification is nice and fairly easy to adjust. Could use a throw lever I think, and there are options for that. Not a huge fan of the threaded turret caps. Just makes them a bit more annoying to get to.That's not really a problem for me seeing as it's an airsoft gun so it doesn't have to be zeroed exactly but I do prefer the UTG style of a locking ring that you just turn slightly to loosen the turret. I haven't noticed it loosing zero, but it's on an airsoft gun. It kicks less than a .22. I'd be shocked if it looses zero on that and, tbh, I doubt I'd notice with my KC02 which isn't very accurate compared to a real firearm (Hits a man sized target at a bit under 250ft). I do miss the illumination of my UTG scope, but not as much as I expected and I can live without it Pros: * Very clear glass * Good price * Feels solid * Nice clicky zero adjustment * Pretty lightweight * Vortex VIP Warranty (Never had to deal with, but I've heard they're fantastic. Even replacing optics purchased second hand with a brand new product when the lens was shot out by an airsoft bb) Cons: * No 1x which I miss from from my UTG 1-4.5x even if that was more of a 1.1x * No illumination Can't test or haven't tested with my uses: * Exact zeroing and how it holds zero * BDC

Great value scope for the price.
Awesome value for the quality of the scope. Glass is clear with minimal tiniting. BDC reticle is clean and thin enough. At lowest 2x magnification there's great range of eye relief, the eye cone (eye box) is forgiving, and there is minimal edge distortion. Cranked all the way to 7x, image and reticle are still very clear, but eye relief and eye cone become more critical, and slightly more noticeable edge distortion. If this is a scope I paid $200+ for, maybe a 4 star at best. Let's be realistic here, you're not buying a more budget scope like this to strongly compete and shoot sub 1 inch groups at 100 yards with precision and clarity of picture. It is a great scope for real applications outside of serious competition. Stick it on a 200 yard hunting rifle or on a budget plinking rifle, like I did with my sub $600 AR15. It works great for very simple recreational and sporting applications. I have nothing but good things to say about this optic for this price. Construction feels solid, magnification adjustment is smooth, adjustment turrets are fine. Put it on a good mount and a good gun, and you can get some good performance out of this scope. But if you want great to excellent performance with a top quality gun, look for a higher end option. Why put Prius tires on a Ferrari?

Right in between 3 and 4 stars.
Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Vortex Optics. I ordered this optic to place on one of my Ar builds. For the price it was just what I was looking for to hold me over for a while till the new optic I wanted was released. I also purchased the Nikon p223 mount for this optic. I mounted the optic to my rifle and took it out to the range. I was happy to find that the optic was pretty dang close to being zeroed in at 100 yards. I removed the caps and dialed in to a true center shot . It took me about 7 rounds to find the sweet spot. At 100 yards this optic is great, I used it at the 3x magnification. I then started to try out the BDC reticle and the additional zoom. I will say the BDC did work quite well. The zoom however was not the best. Up to 5x it was still pretty clear and the image was enhanced. It made my 200 yard shots pretty simple. The 6x started to get a little fuzzy around the edges but the center of the optic was still nice and crisp. At 7x the surrounding gets a bit blurry and distorted. The center is a little smaller but still pretty clean. Tho it is a bit harder to get your eye in the right relief zone. For the price this really is a great optic. It holds true after hundreds of rounds and works great for the 100-300 yard shots. Once you start to go above that and are using more magnification it starts to get a little blurry. I think I paid $125 for this optic so I am by no means complaining. In fact it is probably one of the better options at that price. If you are looking for an optic for consistent 100 yard shot groupings using a bench, this optic is great. If you are looking for something you can be a little more tactical with and need quick image acquisition I would say you need to step up to a higher end optic. Tho at this price and with the amazing customer support and warranty from vortex you really can not go wrong with it. I hope this was a helpful review in making your decision !

Fantastic optic for the money and with a warrenty that is second to none!
Got this scope for my AR-15 and it has done really well so far. I have only put 60 rounds through it but i feel like its going to last a long time for the money you cant get a better scope. It took a while to zero it but after it zeroed it was right on the money. the sight picture is very clear for what it is and the BDC redical is nice sometimes it can be a little blurry at certain distances. But all and all great scope for the money and i have had many scopes and also looked around alot for a good scope in this price range. Also Vortex's VIP warranty is great hopefully i will never have to use it. If you dont know Vortex has a no questions asked policy where they will fix or replace your scope if broken or defective but they dont cover theft loss or intentional damage. Not really sure how they would can tell weather or not you did it on purpose but o cant imagine somebody would want to purposely abuse there scope unless your doing some sort of torture testing. But anyways Vortex is a great company and i really look forward to using this scope in the future it also looks really good as well. But to all those people in the market for a scope in this price range i would look thoroughly at different scopes and the reviews on them and see which one fits your needs best but for the money it is a fantastic optic.

Holds up to a 375 hh recoil
Ok so i dont do reviews that often but listen. There are reviews that say cheap chinese junk and complaining about the glass and everything. I have this scope in 2-7 mounted on a winchester model 70 alskan in 375 hh with leupold QD scope rings and mount. I took it to sight it in thinking if this rifle eats through it its got an awesome waranty so im not risking much. This scope done amazing. If you are familiar with a 375 hh then u know what I mean by the rifle possibly eating through the scope. It didnt take long to sight in and with this rifle it was dead accurate landing shots pretty well on top of each other. Idk what caused others to have issues but this scope is well worth it. I have 4 rounds put back to deer hunt with this season (375hh is expensive rounds so every shot needs to count) and it wouldnt bother me in the least to take it on the big hunts i have planned for this rifle in alaska and africa. It is well worth the money. Yes I would like to have a leupold at some point on this rifle as well but I dont think I can do a whole lot better than the crossfire ii 2-7x32. This isnt the scout version this is the BDC recticle. On another note this rifle has iron sights on it as well and the front sight is able to be seen through the scope at 2 to 3 power on medium rings. Which i let some guys shoot it to try it out and like they said to it sort of throws you off at first bc u dont expect to see that but instead of hindering u it helps to cowitness the scope with the front sight. Idk if the same would be true on different rifles the front sight on this one is a hooded front sight and is fairly long in itself but its something that I personally have come to like about the scope.

Perfect for Mini-14
If you own a Ruger Mini-14, you know that it throws brass like a Cy Young award wining pitcher. "Tactical scopes" with large knobs tend to get in the way of the ejection port, causing malfunctions. There are a lot of ways to fix the problem, but I wanted a (relatively) low-cost solution with good glass that didn't require me to completely dismantle and change out the gas block. Enter the Vortex Crossfire optic. Across the web, Vortex glass is hailed as high-quality. This rather inexpensive Crossfire is no exception. Mounted on my Mini-14 using the 1" Ruger-supplied rings, it was easily zeroed and is trim enough to not interfere too much with the ejection port. The zero remained consistent after more than 300 rounds., with only two ejection malfunctions. I would like it to be "zero ejection malfunctions" but I don't think I'll get that without changing the gas block out. Overall: Excellent glass, maintains zero on a 223 and doesn't get in the way of the ejection port. It's the scope for a Ruger Mini-14.

Vortex Optic Skeptic... no more
I'm a skeptic who was amazed by the quality of this Vortex. It's not mounted but you can see the quality in the optics after first glance through. Extremely clear no fog or discoloration, come with bikini lens covers and a large towel for cleaning. I wish vortex included the basic rings with these although I'll be using a P.E.P.R on this build it would be nice for other applications. I was going to get a Trijicon for this build but decided on something that can zoom a bit further and I will update once it's zero. Looked over the scope for a good while only thing I can find is a small amount of anodizing below one turret cap was really thin or removed from threading of caps. Update: Mounted it two days ago with a PEPR mount and laser bore sighted to 100yds.. I didn't even make an adjustment to the scope it was dead on the laser.. then I setup a paper target at 100yds on a range and was making good groups. I did have to bring my stock in one position to shoot 7 magnification, that's because I mounted it to far forward and plan to fix it later. Be mindful when mounting that your sight picture is full at full power. Enjoy!
