Is it waterproof or just water resistant? Can I submerge it in water for several minutes @ a time?

I have rinsed the mirror part, but haven’t submerged the whole item. It still works fine. After all, it is made to go into a wet environment.

Amazon does not initially allow this device to be retuned. It would required a escalation to another level to return. Device needs upgrade

Is there a correct way to clean the mirror so that the anti-fog coating doesn't get damaged?

I don’t know about what is official but I just use my thumb it a towel to wipe it off. Love this little and light.
