Granddaddy Parallelogram is a great family story, and so much more. The characters are fun, and kids can relate to plot, which includes everything from overcoming sibling rivalry to feeling different from the other kids at school. But the real magic of this book is the way it helps youngsters learn. I saw a room of 5 year olds explaining parallel lines and diagonals to their parents after a single story time reading Granddaddy Parallelogram! Ms. Williams brings math to life, and makes learning fun! Kudos to the author - this is a must have gift for any budding geniuses to find under the tree this Christmas!

As an educator I had the opportunity to purchase this book at an event. I am always looking for books that teach as well as entertain for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. This book does not disappoint! My daughter is in love with this story. She has me read it to her over and over again and loves to tell me what's happening. She is actually using the vocabulary. This is definitely a must have book!

I highly recommend this book! I read this book to my 5 year old son and 11 year old daughter. They were surprised at how much fun it was to read since it was a math book. This book was more than just a math fairytale, it also had a positive message about the power of a family uniting as one. It was helpful to have the parents tips in the back and the phoentic spelling of the math vocabulary.
