First time used took out of the freezer and split.Two have smal hole defects in the mould so can’t see them lasting long.

I'm interested in the fun aspect of making large ice-cubes for the children to play with on hot days.My wife is currently testing it for baking banana cake - I have no reason to suspect it shouldn't work.There are no plans for either of us to have an ice bath !!!The material is black silicone, relatively thin, but with vertical support struts, which give it extra strength.There is a bit of a bulge when filled with water, but when lifted using the top edge grippers, it keeps its shape.I froze a large ice-cube overnight, and it worked. There were some bulges at the base due to stresses and expansions as it froze. This is to be expected.Ice cube size is 8x4x2.5 inches - slightly smaller in height than they say in the listing.There are no major problems with this mould, but due to the slightly flimsy design, it gets 4 stars.

I'm using these moulds purely for making ice blocks despite being tempted to use it for cooking aswell but there's no mention of it being BPA free or food grade silicone so I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than ice block making as advertised.The material is of course silicone which isn't too thin and it's non-stick on the insides which make it easier to free the ice block once frozen. My reason for getting these moulds was to use with my air conditioning unit which they are just the right size for though I can only fit one into the tank at a time. Very useful and glad I got them though wish the description was more clear on wether or not they are food and oven safe.
