This is a great drive for the price. Fast, nicely tactile to handle, good looking, and lots of just empty space on which to store things. No "feature laden" software to get in the way like on Cruzer drives (which sit idle on my desk). Nice job, Lexar!

They work well and support readyboost too.. so I am using one of them as a win7 install usb. like the protection and the safely of the style.

I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to write a note after I discovered this morning my 4 GB Lexar USB Flash drive in the dryer. It had gone through both the washer and dryer, and this wasn't the first time I've left it in my pocket! I just assumed my files were lost, but when I plugged it into my computer (MacBook Pro, OS 10.6), everything worked perfectly! Thanks, Lexar!On more technical notes, I liked the size of this drive, and the swivel that protects the USB connection. I also like the red light that lets me know the computer is communicating with it, so when I eject, I know when it's safe to remove the device.

This may be a problem consistent among all physical media, but the life-span of this device was laughably short. I owned it for roughly 2 weeks, before it suffered some sort of failure and would no longer mount on any computer (mac or pc).After that unit failed, I bought a similar one (this time 8gb) from a local retailer (on sale). Same situation. Similar failure.I commend the manufacturer on the design, after all it looks great and feels sturdy, but functionally, this simple doesn't work nor is it reliable enough for me to trust it as a means of moving files.

I purchased this usb device 4 weeks ago, and after several days of alerts, it stopped working a week ago. Since technological devices have a tendency to have deficiency 50% of all times, and because I backed up all my files in time, I didn't freak out and contact the seller. They respond me immediately, and inform me that they will ship a new one without any cost.Although, if I weren't cautious, I could have lost all my files (term projects, resumes, references...). I would use the new one that they will send me, but will be worried all the time, too. Therefore I would say go buy another brand, and be safe.

I have had this drive for a little over 5 months now and for those five months, it worked great. BUT, recently the device has stopped working properly.I use this device for two things, storing Word documents for school and listening to music in my car. Recently, the device has become very touchy and when I have it plugged in to my car stereo, any bump in the road causes it to disconnect and reload. Also when plugged into my desktop or laptop, it constantly disconnects and reconnects, creating a new popup window each time. It may be possible that I broke the device by keeping it on my key ring (with 6 keys) and plugging it into my desktop with the keys hanging, but I would think that if the drive has a spot for putting it on a keyring, it should be able to hold a few keys. Bottom line, while it works, it is great, but don't keep it on your keyring.

Love these things for gifts and just to have around for spare media. They're compact and easily accessible. The loop at the top doesn't look that sturdy but it really is quite strong. It'll hang on a key chain no problem.
