Stable media converter
Tiny little converter did awesome job. Been working for 24/7 since I bought, no issue at all

Works and even passes VLANs, bad quality of heatsink attachment.
Giving 3 stars because it worked to connect a 2.5G device to a 10G port. The unit I bought was supposedly "new open box to save a few dollars. It came very banged up and dirty in the original box. The heatsink off presumably the switch asic was not connected and banging around loose. I connected it temporarily to my switch and was able to sucesfully link a 10GSR SFP on one side and a 2.5G switch over 50 foot of cat5e cable on the other. I can also confirm that this thing passes VLAN tags with full sized frames (1500 byte), getting the full 2.5g switch. That is 2.5g workstation > soldata 2.5g switch > cat5e > 10G fiber converter > 10G SR > Brocade switch. Edit: Degrading to a 1 Star. The adapter hangs every week or so, starts working again after a power cycle. Don't do it.

Not hot, convenient 10gbe to fiber
I ordered this to avoid a long 10gbe run from our fiber from the street to the gateway/route PC. The isp fiber box only has 10gbe copper, and I really didn't want to use a hot power hungry rj45 stp+ module in the gateway/router. So far it works fine in all my tests.
