How long is the cord?

The cord extends 27 inches from the base. I have wound the cord around the inside of the base to only extend 14 inches.

We use a water softener yet still needed to descale this about once every 6 months. Super easy to do: Add 1/4 cup white vinegar to about half kettle of water. Allow to boil and shut off. Leave for about 30 minutes then dump out and clean with dishsoap. Looks good as new afterwards.

How wide is the opening at the top? My hands are very wide and it appears small in photos... otherwise perfect fit!

It is wide open for any hands size. It doesn't have any open problem for me at all.

Bought. extremely flimsy base and wobbly to the slightest touch... and permanent condensation on inner glass. Is this normal?

The base I have is plastic and sturdy. My kettle sits flat and level both on and off the base. There may be a defect with your base if you are having issues with that. And yes, I have condensation on the glass after use if I leave the lid closed. I clean mine weekly with a small amount of vinegar and let it set for 30 mins. Then I rinse and leave the lid open so it can fully dry.
