Anyone who uses the RFID lock for security purposes needs the back up cable in case the batteries happen to discharge in the main unit like mine did. This insures that the unit can be unlocked without having to destroy storage device to retrieve the secured valuables the RFID is intended to keep secure.

The lock works great with the included cards. However, I’ve tried to add cards using their directions and it won’t add user cards to the system. I purchased the following RFID cards from another vendor and it should have worked. If I can’t get it to add users, I’ll be changing my review to something much lower. RFID CARDS: XCRFID NFC NTAG213 NFC Forum Type 2 Tag 13.56mhz RFID White Blank ISO Card Compatible NFC Mobile phones (10PCS Cards)

I should have just purchased a usa made lock. This one was very hard to install and understand instructions. Very flimsy and could NOT even read through 3/4 walnut. Left it installed on a custom drawer mount and it stopped reading permanently. Just multiple beeps. Had to basically force open the drawer causing splintered walnut. I DO NOT RECCOMEND

Will not configure. It goes through a beeping sequence that is not detailed in the limited info that is made available. Zero instructions on how to get it to work. Garbage product. I wouldn't even want one for free.
