Excellent toy & occupies our granddaughter for hours!
We bought this for our granddaughter for Christmas, when she was 8 months old. It was an instant hit! Initially we set up the round balls for her to hit into the box. She pounded them using all ends of the wood hammer. By 12 months old she was hitting them with the right side of the hammer and she could get the balls out of the box through the elastic sides. The straight up and down sides, as she figured out how to slide her hand in sideways and pull out a ball then put it on the hole and pound it in again. It occupied her for up to 30 minutes, and she might go away from it, but always came back to it. She is now 18 months old and she still loves pounding those balls hard, then taking them out again and pounding them back in ... repeatedly. She is also taking out other shapes and turning the box around to try to put them into the correct shaped hole. It is still one of her favourite toys. When she comes over to our house, which is frequently, it's the first toy she goes to. This toy is very well made and sturdy wood. Our granddaughter is pounding that hammer as hard as she can to hit those balls and the hammer has not broken and there are no chips in the balls nor the box. The paint on the balls has held up from all the pounding. No paint chips. I would highly recommend this toy.
