This sterile Rye grain bag is perfect for growing mushrooms of different types. I find everything was very easy to inoculate, there is no growth that came unexpected and the overall results I'm very happy with. I believe the rye grain they used to be of high quality. I'm excited to see the results, and as I am new to mushroom growing and i have limited space, I found this worked out perfectly with very low maintenance.

Grain seems fine. However, after 10 days, I went to smell the grain to make sure it was smelling healthy. That's when I realized the filter patch was simply attached to the outside of the bag and not allowing any FAE. I have cut it out and applied a new filter patch. Hopefully it will be ok, but time will tell. This is something that should not be happening. These bags have essentially two needed components. An injection port and a filter patch. Not that hard to screw up. But somehow mine was.

Excellent bag with FAE patch and inoc port. Vacuum sealed. The rye looks healthy and in good condition on arrival. The port is supposed to be self-healing, which is great, but I put a microfiber tape strip over it just in case. Super easy to quickly inoculate this bag in front of a flow hood, either with spores or with culture. I've got mine working on building mycelium and will update here if there's any issues, but these guys seem to have ready-to-go sterile spawn well in hand. Handy to not have to do all the sterilization procedure for a change. So far, this one's a 5 for me.
