Blows up extremely quick. Using it to mark an anchor line, not as a swim buoy. Bright and cute and easy to store when not using it. Much easier than a rigid anchor buoy.

This was so helpful at the beach to keep an eye on my 9 year old who likes to go out into the deep water. He's pretty skinny so we had to tighten it all the way and it fit just right but if you have a kid younger than 5 who is skinny, it might not be able to tighten enough to stay on well. It's very visible even from far away so you can keep track and my 9 year old thought it was fun having it follow him around. It won't keep them from drowning because it won't pull them up out of the water, but at least if they do go under you can see where they are to find them. It's pretty sturdy and the buckle has normal clips and then one small other part you have to press to undo so it won't accidentally unbuckle. It's super easy to inflate and deflate, you just push down on a little button and it'll let all the air out, so much easier than squeezing the nozzle on a normal inflatable.

This shark swim buoy is really neat - great to use on kids in open water. You can use it when water skiing or just swimming so you can see them better. The shark design made for some great conversations and a lot of people asked where we got it.

Considerations:-I have a few swim buoys for lake swimming and this is a budget friendly option.-I was surprised that this has a valve to hold the air in as you blow it up, so you don’t have to worry about air escaping when trying to plug it.-The tether is just ok. It’s not particularly comfortable and I would prefer an extra yard of material to be used to fit people of all sizes and to have the buoy drag just slightly behind you instead of right behind your back.-The color is eye catching and the fin adds extra height to make you more visible.-This has a handle so you can use it to rest while in deep water.Overall, this is just ok. I would recommend spending more to get something this is more comfortable, durable, and has a few more features.

This buoy is working well for helping our 5 y.o. grandson practice swimming in our pool. He is confident in his abilities but we are wanting a little more security for now. The belt requires a 2 part action to take it off so we have to take it off for him. The flotation isn't directly on his body so he is able to dive to the bottom to get toys and play, which is a big requirement for him. It is always attached so if he gets worried, he can pull on the belt to go to the float and the float has a nice handle if he just wants to hang in the water and float for awhile. He is never in the pool unless we are there so it is ok that it isn't a life saving float.
