A friend has my vest to sew ALR patches on, and I won't get it back for a few weeks. Haven't worn but have to say it looks great! Nice buy for the money, ya can't do any better. Looks better than I expected. I definitely recommend this vest to anyone that wants a reference..

THIS VEST REEKS SO BAD YOU CAN'T WEAR IT. I PUT IT IN A SMALL BAG WITH A BLOCK OF DAMP RID AND A FRAGRANCE CUP, HONESTLY I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT! UNWEARABILITY. AND IT'S NOT A "LEATHER SMELL" EVER SEE THAT EPISODE OF SIENFELD THE SMELLY CAR? IT'S A BEAST.

The pros: The vest is lined with a mild quilting making it nicely warm on the old back which is important to me. Unlike dress vests, the back panel is the same construction as the front pieces not just a sheet of synthetic material. It's also a smoothly finished leather. In spite of the patch work stitching, the overall finish is resistant to catching dust or hair. The fit is good. The lining makes it shift when you sit so it rises above your collar but that's easily fixed by holding the tail if you do slide into a chair. The cons: as other reviewers have said, it does smell when new. Mine had no tarnish on the snaps but the smell was so strong it passed onto my shirt on first wearing enough that I had to launder the shirt for the smell. I hung the vest outside overnight without much improvement. It was a damp foggy night which dampened the vest. 5 minutes in the dryer with a dryer sheet didn't help much either. Whatever it is this thing is treated with, it surely keeps the leather from molding during shipping but the smell holds on dearly. Fit: I am 6 foot and 215 lbs The size chart , like many, offers guidance but not absolute answers. According to my chest measurement with a heavy shirt on (bought it to add warmth) I was supposed to need XXL or 3 XL to be sure. I ordered the XL based on the other measurements from the chart. It is snug around the chest when over a heavy weight shirt but the snaps do not pull much nor pop open when twisting-reaching. For a regular weight shirt it fits fine. Overall very pleased with it especially for the price.

The vest itself is decent for the price and the exact weight my husband wanted however, I had to pay someone to have all new snaps put on it after the first time wearing it because one fell off and the others were going to follow. The snaps that are originally put on need to be improved. For what I spent on the vest and new snaps, I could have bought a higher quality best and not had the issues.

I've been wanting a nice vest for style. But some of these stylish vests are quite expensive. I found this one and decided to order it. It was a little risky but i'm kind of glad I did. It looks great on me however, if you like a more roomy vest, I suggest you go up a size. I'm normally an XL and the XL size is a bit snug on me. But that isn't much of a problem. It's still a very stylish vest for an excellent price. Just make sure you let it air out before you wear it. It has a strong odor. After a few hours the smell goes away though. Still a great vest!

The vest is a good quality and a nice fit and very attractive.

The vest itself is OK, but don't think that you are going to wear this out anywhere for motorcycle events as it is made with scrap pieces of leather and looks like it. Picture does not show the patchwork pattern and it is easily seen as creaselines, but they are seams sewn with a serger stitch and it is quite obtrusive in the tanned finish of the garment. It would work fine for a theater production or anywhere artistic license is appreciated. Amazon should somehow state that is is not made of sheet leather but small pieces. Its not a bad craftwork if that is what you want, but it is the pits if it is not.
