really solid!
been using this with my iphone 15 to film content and it works super well. i have it attached to a tripod with the neewer lens screwed into the backplate and it works amazing! phone slides in super easy as well and its very secured. its also super easy to remove as it is held in by a little latch that you just open with your finger. the material feels very sturdy as well :) really glad i got this instead of the overpriced other brands.

Some Sharp-ish Edges, Lens Plate Design Weak
So far this item has been as described and has worked well in my testing. My first complaint would be that some of the edges could almost be called sharp, including the ones around the phone's screen. I've yet to cut myself on them because I've largely avoided trying to run my finger along them, primarily because they make me nervous. It'll probably be fine, but since this is an updated design, I'm surprised they couldn't have done a more to smooth those out. The lens mounts are working, but I don't have a lot of faith in the snap-on adapter plates that sit between the cage and the lens/filter. I've yet to attach a bulky lens like the Reeflex 240mm, but can say that in using various filters on the 67mm adapter, that plate will snap off while you're trying to make adjustments because the whole thing twists with the lens. If you look closely at the product photos, you'll see that the various connections for the back just slide in and hit a detente with no secondary lock to enable. Having bought this with the plan to eventually use it with lenses, this is also making me nervous. I generally like the brand though and will keep the item since I need something immediately.

Great fit and finish. Be sure that you need T and not M mount
The product was great. I had to return it because I thought it would fit by moment lenses, but I had the wrong type.

Great addition
Perfect! I love that I can leave a lens protector on it and the grip is very helpful.

Great cage - Solid improvement across the board over the Gen 1 Neewer Cage
I've been using the Gen 1 Neewer cage for the last 6 months regularly to shoot video with my iPhone 15 Pro Max phone and have always been a big fan of this combo. Getting my hands on the Gen 2 version this week, my impression is that this is an improvement across the board over the original, including some good work in listening to reviews and users in revising the cage. The big changes - 1) The new cage includes quick-release mounting slots that allow the user to quickly connect accessories like handgrips with a simple squeeze of the connector instead of needing to screw screws into place to connect them to the cage. This makes the cage a legitimate phone case you can use in normal circumstances vs the old cage which took too long to add handles to and remove from to have this be your daily carry case. The original cage didn't include handles, but you could buy and add two different handles - one basic one and another which included a bluetooth based shutter release that made the cage a legit camera. Having to click an onscreen button on the phone is just tedious. The old style add-ons you bought with attachment screws work just fine with the new cage, but the quick-release new style attachments will not work on the old cage. The Gen 2 does include a single handle, but not the one with a bluetooth shutter release. 2) The new cage adds a t-mount lens adapter in addition to the 67mm filter adapter and 17mm lens backplane in the original. This allows you to add telephoto and wide angle lens that are more readily available than the 17 mm lenses. Both cages include the filter adapter, which to me is the biggest value optically to either of these cages. Other than that, this new cage offers about the same advantages as the older cage. Same feel, same weight, and same functionality. Cold shoe mounts, tripod mounts, and 1/4 inch threaded holes make a huge number of accessories easy to add to either. If you want to stabilize your phone and use it for photography and/or video, this is a great cage which fits the phone beautifully and will greatly improve the results of your work. The backward compatibility of old-style attachments you bought for an earlier cage makes this a no-brainer for me. I will carry this as my normal phone case, providing solid metal armor to protect my phone and knowing I can snap on accessories in a moment instead of wasting time with cumbersome screw mounts and a phone that is difficult to use. I think this is the best phone cage I have used, including ones from 2 other popular manufacturers. Highest recommendation!

Practical Phone Rig
This is a handy tool for stabilizing and enhancing phone camera shots. It features a quick release type mechanism for easy setup, which is convenient for quick shooting sessions. However, its bulkiness can be cumbersome for extended use. While it effectively stabilizes the phone and provides a platform for adding accessories like lights and microphones, its weight and size might not suit everyone. Overall, it’s a decent choice for amateur videographers looking to improve their phone camera capabilities.

(Updated) Value-packed cage, but limited to specialty handles and flaky finish.
Updated: My original review remains below, but I came back to update this after some time to reflect a longer-term assessment. While this is all around nice, some things weren’t apparent to me at first. The most frustrating thing is that the mini handles they give you use adapters that are all smaller than other NEEWER handles. So you’ll need to use a smaller hex key and won’t be able to just clamp in any NATO product since the length of the inserts are smaller than every other standard handle that I have (and I have a LOT of handles). Plus: get used to having a scratched up cage and questionable locks on the handles. It’a a bit hard to tell when the handles are really locked on, and I’ve had a few fall off. It also adds quite a bit of weight so it might not be suitable for some tripods. It’s still ok, just not as versatile as I initially thought. Original Review: Over-all this is a great solution for folks who want to get the most out of their 15 Pro Max without breaking the bank. It comes with virtually all the basic adapters you would need so that you can mix and match lenses. It has padding to protect your phone as you slide it in and out and a lock to secure the whole thing in place. And it comes with a quick release handle. You really can’t go wrong! Still, there are some things about this that give me pause: and I’m saying this knowing that I really haven’t found ANY cage that solves all these issues. First: many MagSafe accessories won’t be able to fit on the phone because the cage and/or especially lenses attached will block MagSafe modules. While you can attach some, it’s just a frustrating limitation that seems like it could be solved with some extension accessory. Second: when adapters are attached, the cutouts always seem to be ever-so-slightly off from the camera lens, which can cast a shadow over the lenses and makes me nervous about scratching them. I don’t necessarily see this in my videos/photos…though this might be what causes that “vignetting” effect. I’m not sure if this is a limitation with all cages like this as it seems to be a persistent problem. Third: the metal is sharp and the finishing is prone to scratch and flake off. This is fine for a value packed cage, but it was noticeable on first use. It makes me really nervous to place a non-encased phone onto it…and yet I’ve never scratched the phone because of the generous padding inside. Forth: versatility is somewhat limited in that NEEWER’s case that has adapters uses a different mechanism to attach lenses that doesn’t work with this cage. A bit of a bummer as I’d like to see more consistently within a brand, but not a deal breaker as this cage is way more versatile by including so many adapters/mounts. Fifth: the quick release handle is not ideal. It relies on both a clamp and a tightened knob. It always feels like it’s not quite fully attached, even if it is…and it doesn’t really release as quickly as I’d like since it involves both unscrewing a known and pressing the button. I have had the thing slide off once when I thought it was tightened, though I had plenty of warning that this might happen so there was no damage. Still…it’s a handle that doesn’t quite feel like it’s on. And yet…it’s good enough and above-average quality so…I still like it. Beyond those points, this really is a great cage! I’ve been using it for awhile now to attach all sorts of lenses, regardless of brand, and it’s impressed me with its versatility and consistent ability to NOT scratch my phone or lenses. This product is proof that you don’t need to break the bank to get a quality kit and for that reason, I recommend it! Hope this helps!

Not able to connect USB C Microphone with case on.
Not able to connect USB C Microphone while cage in on or right angled cable had to be long USB C to fit Scratches very easily. I attached one piece without struggling and it shows scratched metal. Maybe it's to soft? I like the look but that's it. Definitely returning waste of time. I wish some of the tutorials would have gone over the issues with it other than all the benefits. This thing is a nice looking piece off junk. Now I'm stuck with this because I bought one of there lenses for the phone.
