Best ever children's Chinese poems music book! Good sound quality and duration. Traditional Chinese instruments playing the music .

What a delightful little book! I very much doubt that, at my advanced age, I'm going to learn any Mandarin Chinese from it; but I love hearing the pleasant little songs. I wish only that each one lasted longer, and ended in a fade-out rather than an abrupt chop-off of the last note. And eventually I'll be able to stop watching the words and spend more time enjoying the illustrations while listening to the songs. I must wonder, however, at the age rating. Isn't "1 to 3" a little young for something like this? Certainly, I'd very much hesitate ever to leave a toddler that age unsupervised with this book. Not if I hoped to find it still in one piece when I came back. And, assuming the toddler sets about tearing it apart, if s/he gets at the batteries, they could pose her or him dangers. I'd put it at about age 8 on up for personally handling something like this. But 1 to 3 would be fine to nestle a toddler and start playing it for her or him. Were I that age again, there's a good chance such a tool as this really might get me started on learning Mandarin. In acquiring languages, the younger the better.

Love the songs, but the product could be improved by placing the sound portal somewhere other than the very back of the book. Additionally, not all the songs repeat twice as advertised. Other than that, my baby loves it, especially the first song.

As an American who speaks Mandarin and hopes her children will at least have a good appreciation for Chinese language and culture, I really love this book. Unlike most bilingual books for kids, this actually uses cultural, traditional poetry to expose children to Mandarin, rather than random vocab words. The music is also traditional, and I love that the English is included but is small and not distracting like it is when books print both languages in the same font size. The Chinese is written in simplified characters (which is what is widely used in mainland China, but not in Hong Kong or Taiwan) with pinyin, which is my preference. The book is well-made and good quality, including the printing being sharp and colorful. It comes with appropriate batteries and had an on/off switch on the back. To play the music, you have to push the button/sensor on each page (don't be like me and expect it to be the light-based sensor and think it's broken when you didn't even push the button :facepalm:). Overall, I am super pleased with this book as a way to introduce traditional Chinese poetry (and grammar) and music to my kids, while refreshing my own Chinese.

This book is beautifully illustrated, with cute traditional Tang poetry sung in Mandarin. Each page has a little spot to touch to start or stop the song, as well as the poem written in Chinese characters with pinyin spelling and an English translation - great for my sister's Chinese-American family. This book delighted her husband and in-laws, who were familiar with these poems and songs from their childhoods. The pages are made of sturdy cardboard, and there is an on/off switch on the back where the batteries can be replaced if needed. We all look forward to sharing this with the baby on the way!

Did not work upon receipt. Now i have to take the time to return an item That should have worked when I first got it. Just so annoyed. Not sure why people would send defective items to their customers.

After 6 months of use and one round of battery replacement, the book is pretty much useless. The audio will start but cut off after a couple of words.

Awesome mandarin poetry singing book! My teenage daughter loves this book so much. She's self-taught mandarin, and this poetry singing book helps her with her mandarin in a fun way. It's very easy to use. Just turn on the power button or switch, push the little grey button on the page, and beautiful song starts playing. It has clear pronunciation that correspond to the mandarin words or alphabets (I am sorry if I don't describe it right because I don't know anything about mandarin). There's English translation at the bottom of each page. Colorful and beautiful illustrations make it even more fun. Excellent product! I will promote this product in my social media accounts and storefront.

Love these books for my kids. One of the songs skips but i dont have the heart to take it away from my kids.

Was good but the songs are abit annoying

Beautiful music with clear pronunciation written in Chinese, pinyin and English. Replacement batteries and a screwdriver recommended.
