I would call this material forged steel, definitly NOT aluminium or something weaker. The mounts to the trailer are 4mm, the risers are 3.6mm thickness. Seems welded, my painting or powder coating was good to very good. I used the M8 bolts and nuts to put the rack together to desired height and width (blue Loctite for locking width). My trailer is small so width was 51 inches, so rack very compressed and strong. I stood on it at 190 lbs, no flex. I bought new machine screws and bolts to mount to frame of my trailer. Easy install, instructions are not neccessary. Super happy with these for the price. The boards are light but bulky. The rack could easily handle something heavier but this is a small trailer. Perfect combination.

Installed and read as some have commented" that the self tap screws may fail, so I pilot drilled them and installed and they are pretty stout feel to them" at 84 inch full extended length, I am not loading them with much weight, two solar panels 26 lbs. each mounted to the side of a Rv s air conditioning, so close to the side plates, no deflection so far, if in time I see some deflection, I will install a 1 inch diameter galv. pipe into the square tube to assist but don't think that will be needed as they are holding them fine. liked there height and adjustability, touched up some shipping chips on the paint finish, and all is good I will post a pic with the solar panels on soon..

They’re sturdy and were easy to install. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the instructions could be a bit clearer, especially for adjusting the size. Once I figured it out, though, everything worked perfectly.
