I'm 77 and still plastering the old fashioned way but decided to give this a try having three bedrooms to skim didn't want an expensive one in case I didn't like it and was amazed how simple and easy it was to use saving me a lot of arm work, wish I'd bought one years ago

Brought to use after applying Dalapro finishing skim as a DIY job. Great item at a good price. Made the job a lot easier than I had expected, with a great result. Good size and easy to clean.

First time I have used one of these and personally I thought it was brilliant.I am no a plasterer and used it with a ready mixed skim and finish from screwfix.It takes a couple of passes to get the angle and pressure correct when you start. To little pressure is the problem so be prepared to put a little effort in to get a better finish.

Doing some DIY to learn, and used these to plaster some drywall. Worked fantastically well, and made the job much easier.Be careful when cleaning them as they are VERY sharp. Sliced into my thumb open while cleaning them.If I had any complaint it's that the side covers are quite clunky and don't sit flush. But it's not a huge issue.

Excellent set of spatulas. Never had any experience of skimming a ceiling before until I used these to re-skim a ceiling which had previously had Sandtex coating applied.Took 2 coats of plaster to do the job. Made the mistake of applying the first coat too thick to try and completely cover the rough texture beneath. That was a disaster - plaster cracked and bubbled and had t be scraped off the next day as it wasn't setting right.So first coat should just fill in the gaps between the rough textured ceiling. The second coat smooths out the surface and gives a perfect finish.The blades do a great job, I used the small blade mostly until I got used to handling it and getting the right angles to apply the plaster and achieve a smooth finish. Its also useful for working around downlights and other fittings. The middle size blade came into its own on straight runs without and obstacles. Keep the blades clean and damp with a sponge to achieve a good finish as the plaster starts to dry quickly, especially on that second coat which goes off quicker and can lead to dragging marks if the blade isn't kept slightly damp.
