No problems, just slower than the Makita DC18RC
This charger works well but it is much slower than my original Makita DC18RC. It's important to note that the Makita DC18RC charges at 9 amps, while this charges at 3 amps. The label on the bottom says 80 watts input (the Makita says 240 watts) but I measured a constant 65 watts until the battery neared the full charge, at which point the power use very slowly tapered down and was drawing only 9 watts when it stopped charging. Both red and green lights illuminate at 80% charge and the last 20% of charging takes a long time. It used less than 1 watt after charging was complete, the same as before charging, which tells me the battery is not harmed by leaving it in the charger for a while longer. It charges the battery to a slightly higher voltage. A battery charged by my Makita DC18RC measured 20.2 V, while the same battery discharged and charged by this charger measured 20.8 V. Assuming a five-cell battery, that's 4.04 V per cell for the Makita and 4.16 V per cell for this charger. I'd rather store the batteries at the lower voltage but the higher charge will give a slightly longer runtime. The battery stayed cool during charging. The bottom of the charger did get a little warm - I measured 112 degrees F in a 77-degree room. The Makita DC18RC has a fan to cool the battery while charging, but that is not needed (and not present) with the lower current of this charger. It beeps out a short tune when the battery is inserted and another when the battery is fully charged. There is a slight coil whine during charging. The power cord is about 42 inches long. The instructions are a little unclear in a few places, especially regarding the "Aging Test" which directs you to "Short the SM1 PIN", which I assume is hidden inside the charger because there's nothing like that visible on the outside. If you need fast charging you probably want to spend a little extra and get the Makita DC18RC. Otherwise this works fine, and there may be cases where the lower power draw is important, e.g. if you're powering this from a car's inverter.

Smart, fast charger, works with all of my Makita Batteries
I ordered this excellent Makita charger from Amazon, and it arrived quickly in a well-packaged box. Inside, I found the charger and a user manual. The charger is very similar to the factory fast charger I received from Makita. My original Makita charger had broken, so I immediately tested this Supowill charger with all of my batteries. It worked perfectly with every battery. One of the best features is the automatic power cutoff when the battery is fully charged. The cord is thick and durable, easily handling power needs. The charging port mechanism is flawless, making it very easy to mount and unmount the batteries.I also love the LED lights, which provide instant feedback about the charge status. Overall, this charger works very well for me, and I highly recommend it to any Makita owner.

Affordable and Functional, but Best as a Backup
The Supowill Replacement Makita Battery Charger works with all the batteries I've used, although I have read that some users experienced issues with certain batteries. It comes at a good price point and features the same musical tones as the OEM charger to indicate when charging is complete. However, it charges slower than the OEM charger and lacks a cooling fan. Additionally, the cord is shorter than the OEM version, which can limit where you can place the charger. Overall, it's a good backup charger, but I wouldn't recommend it as a primary.

Very Impressive Charger
This Supowill DC18RC is impressive! I just started using Makita tools and batteries. Previously I used Milwaukee only. I have multiple knock-off Milwaukee chargers from different brands (all purchased here on Amazon). Those tend to come with horrible manuals and lack any advanced features.Imagine my pleasant surprise when I discovered how feature-rich this charger is. The most important features to me are:- overcharging protection- over-loading protection- over-heating protection- over-current protection- over-voltage protection- short-circuit protectionIt has all of those. Cheap chargers that lack those protections can burn your house down. Be careful!I saw a very interesting video about tool batteries: "How Dangerous Are Knockoff Tool Batteries? Let’s find out!" by Project Farm. The video date is Sep 10, 2023. There's also a more recent video, "Have You Been Scammed with a Counterfeit Tool Battery?" Both are well worth watching. The tune that plays when a battery is fully charged is a great feature. It can save time when you are multi-tasking. I don't know why all battery charges haven't implemented that feature. The manual clearly explains all the lights. Unlike the chargers I'm used to, these light give you extra info (such as when the battery is more than 80% charged).I own dozens of chargers, many OEM units. I think this might be the best charger of them all.
