If you aren't getting the level results you want then remove the plaster from the back of the aluminum fixture (be very careful when doing so). The vials can then be used by themselves or you can clean up the aluminum housing and simply cover the vials with them. The vials are THE important part and accurate part of the entire item. The vials encased in the aluminum housing renders them inaccurate. But, once the vials are removed they are extremely accurate and have consistent repeatable results. These are 20 seconds (0° 00.34') or an arc vials and more than worth their price.

I hope I just don't understand how to use this level. I placed it on a somewhat level surface and the bubble settles all the way to the right...so I reverse the orientation 180 degrees and the bubble settles all the way to the left. I may be wrong but I thought the bubble would settle in the center between the lines when the level sits on a level surface. No matter what orientation I set the level the bubble always settles to the same end of the level. I guess if you were going to attach the level to something you could shim it somehow. I apologize if I have gotten it wrong but if I haven't then I'm a little concerned how something like this would get through quality control and shipped out by a company

Well built, but way too accurate for anything I could use. You can't keep the level centered while holding it because your heart beat will throw it off. Leveling a picture frame will frustrate you. The thickness of a dollar will throw it off the scale.

Excellent sensitivity for the price. The sensitivity is misstated in the diescription. My rough measurement is 40 arc-seconds per division. Each division is 2 mm which makes it 20 arc-seconds per mm. (My measurement was to place the level on a steel bar, add shims on one end of the bar and note how far the bubble moved.)

It work's well. I may order more.
