Good
I like cooking with wooden spoons. The length of these were good. I wished the spoon part was a little deeper.

Love these spoons
For years I’ve just been using plastic kitchen spoons and never thought much of it. More recently our family has been making a concerted effort to move away from that, though, and one of the first things on my list was a set of wooden kitchen spoons. My mom was from the “Old Country”, as they used to say, and did a lot of home cooking, so I grew up around wooden kitchen spoons (in a pinch they also served as an effective discipline tool, but that’s a different story and possibly not suited for today's audience…). I was a bit surprised at how sparse the selection was when I started hunting for the 10-12” sampling/stirring style of wooden kitchen spoon that I remembered. Then I ran across these spoons on Amazon and, based on good reviews, I purchased a set and am very happy with them so far. They’re just the right size for stirring chili in the slow cooker, preparing ground beef in a cast iron skillet, sampling soups and gravies, pushing around a pat of butter in a pan, caramelizing onions, or any number of other similar mundane tasks. They do show up pretty rough, so I highly recommend taking a few minutes to give them a proper finish before putting them into service. I started by hand-sanding with 150-grit sandpaper to smooth out and deburr the whole spoon and then followed with a 220-grit for a finer finish. Finally wiped them down with a couple coats of food-grade mineral oil and let sit overnight to soak in. I’m not a pro, so there are likely better ways to do this, but that’s what I had laying around and it worked great. Took maybe 15 minutes for the set of five spoons, so not a large time investment either.

EXACTLY what everyone needs. Solid, usable, and not prone to cracking.
Remember the wooden spoons your mom and dad had that never seemed to crack and break and just survived year after year? I believe these are that. I will update the review as time goes on if something happens. I wanted a bunch of wooded spoons I didn't have to worry about. I'm done with the olive-wood fancy stuff that requires me treat it like freaking royalty to prevent cracking right away. These aren't too deep, they're rugged (nothing thin-lipped and weaked) and I use them constantly.
