These are great for cutting wood as well as doing weed trimming. They don't fog up and protect your eyes from debris. If you work with chainsaws, weed trimming or anything where your eyes may be exposed to flying debris, I would recommend these especially in hot environments or during summer work.

If you wear glasses, like me, then it is time to put in your contacts. The best thing about these is that they don't ever fog up. They can be worn during any activity that requires eye protection (albeit that does not involve gaseous materials). My arborist is a stubborn man who wouldn't wear eye protection due to the hassle and simply relied on eye drops. I gifted him a set up these goggles and he's still thanking me months later. being able to loop them around the neck means that they won't easily get lost and will always be on hand for immediate use.

For me, this was a trade-off between not being able to see much at all due to plastic glasses fogging, and not being able to see as clearly because of the mesh. It is a little distracting at first, but once you get used to the view you can see well enough to work safely. However, depending on the time of day and the direction you're facing you may get glare bouncing off the wire mesh. I purchased a different brand of mesh goggles at first, but the sides were blacked out, offering NO peripheral vision at all. The Bugz-Eye goggles are clear on the sides and are a vast improvement over the other brand. They are padded, very comfortable, and fit my face perfectly, so there is no chance of anything getting in my eyes unless it is small enough to go through the mesh. UPDATE (June 1, 2016): As anyone with experience knows, even with a sharp chain you can get dust when sawing cross-grain. That happened a few days ago, and some of the wood dust was small enough to get between the mesh and into my eye. I still think these goggles are a better option than solid plastic.

LOL...Although these look weird and make me look like a bug, I would rather wear these than get my eye poked out. Also, I always wore safety glasses in the past but darn it! They fog up!!! These don't fog up. I found out about these in a Wranglerstar You Tube video about chainsawing. they are kind of pricey but look to be well made and the strap is easily adjustable.

As a bald guy who tends to sweat a lot, glasses become a big PITA when using a chainsaw, weed eating, etc. They fog up, the water drops on the lens and distorts vision, etc. However, due to the $$ I've put into my eyes (corrective laser surgery), I'm a big safety glasses nazi. I'm still going to wear them. I'd used a mesh face cover before when cutting brush, and it worked well. This was 20+ years ago. I was actually looking for something similar when I found these. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from these, but based on the positive reviews (and some googling at arboristsite) I decided to give them a shot. I used them for the first time yesterday, and I am SUPER happy with them. They are a bit dark when you first put them on, but I got used to that quickly. They allowed my vision to stay clear (unlike sweat running down the inside of glasses), they were very comfortable, and I didn't get ANYTHING in my eyes all day (even though I was spitting stuff out of my mouth on occasion!). In addition, I LOVE the foam backing/seal on the googles. This worked GREAT at keeping the sweat out of my eyes altogether, so my eyes weren't burning/stinging like they normally do after a couple hours. That discovery was almost as wonderful as simply being able to see what I was doing. All in all, color me a very impressed, very satisfied owner thus far. My only concern is how long that foam seal is going to last, with all the sweat/skin exposure, but I think I'll be ok.
