It makes their skin really shiny and soft

My lab, who eats everything under the sun, would not touch his food with this on it. My dachshund got very sick. He’s better three days later. I cannot positively say this was the cause. I have always used Pet Honesty products. Once I saw my lab pup back away and not touch his food, I began to wonder. I am throwing it away out of caution. I normally buy the omega 3 oil for their food. This is the first time I have used the salmon oil.

The product seems to work but my dog do not like the taste. Mix it in with wet dog food for him to eat it.

My pup was in another room when I removed the seal from the salmon oil bottle. I didn't even make it to the trash bin before I saw her standing next to me, licking her lips with a hopeful look in her eyes! She was intensely attracted to the smell of salmon apparently. (Fortunately the smell isn't overwhelming for humans- you can smell the fishiness up close, but not from a few feet away.) I drizzled the "sauce" over her dry food- which she tends to be uninterested in- and she gobbled it up immediately. I'd say she likes it, ha ha! Too soon to tell if it will be effective for her coat, etc, but if all it amounts to is a food taste/smell enhancer, that's enough for me to continue using it. I have given it to her 3 times and so far, she has not had any sort of digestive issues or adverse reactions.

Switched from another salmon oil supplement due to availability and have had no regrets. The nutter (male mini dachshund) has said nothing bad about this supplement and his "dandruff" (flaky skin) has actually seemed to improve vs when he was on the previous supplement. I wasn't sure about the old mustard container design (twist-top for the younger folks out there), but I have come to enjoy it more than the previous pump bottle that would occasionally leak small drops of stinky fish oil in the fridge. Four paws up! Oh wait... That's just him squirming around on his back waiting for belly rubs. Two thumbs up from the human slave then!

I'm not sure whether there are any positive or negative effects, but overall, I think it's worth the money and a fantastic present for dog owners. However, I can't remember how it smells, and the price is too much for this product. Given that my dog is getting close to senior status, I appreciate that this oil helps joints. Additionally, because they don't use needless fillers, my dogs have never become ill, and they enjoy the taste even if the bottle top can be messy.

I don’t know if this is usual or it’s been left in the heat or something but my dog gagged after first lick and wouldn’t touch the food I put it on. Unfortunately, waste of money. Was looking forward to adding this to her health regimen. Surprised that it’s not refundable. So know that before you try. Love other products by pet honesty!!!!
