Nourishing, smells fine
I love this vata pacifying massage oil. I used to buy from Sarada and I still like quality (types of herbs, # of herbs, process, etc.) and smell of their oil way better, but sadly they are not shipping to the US anymore. This oil smells fine. It does smell earthy and I get a little "salty" smell, but it's generally pretty neutral and not overly anything. These qualities are all things are good for vata, so I don't understand why people are complaining about the smell so much. :)

Incredible
Iโm not sure what this oil is, but Iโve had a crazy experience recently that called me to buy this specific oil. I have had innumerable stomach issues and I rub this on my stomach. Iโve had more clarity about my life than Iโve ever had. Iโve never felt this grounded and calm before. Wild stuff! Definitely smells like hay but I donโt mind considering itโs helping me so much.

My spa time.
Good quality. I do not like the smell , ( they have unscented) but I have an in depth understanding through yoga training that this is what the herbs - that I need - smell like. I am almost 100% Vata ( my dosha is primarily Vata with some pitta ) this oil is perfect. When I sauna or have time I cover myself from scalp to toes for an hour or much more. I ALWAYS wash this out though. I leave the unscented on. Iโm so dry ( Vata ) it just soaks in. Iโm 53 and I feel like it gives my hair and skin a healthy glow.

Still a little on the fence for MY skin type
I have been doing ayurvedic self-massage for years. I'm a Vata through and through, and wanted to try out the Vata-specific oil. First, I love the scent. It has a licorice scent to me, and I quite like it. It smells similar to the Nasya oil, if you have tried that. I tend to be very dry, and I like to feel moisturized; in fact, I often bask in oil (head to toe) all day, or even sleep in it. That said, this tends to absorb completely into the skin, moreso than the pure sesame oil I typically use. It's only been a few days, so I'm not sure if this may be a good thing for my face, or if I prefer heavier oiling. My desired effect is to shower, and have a slight filmy residue after the shower, obviating the need for lotion. That probably sounds yucky to some, but a true, dry Vata will relate. :) I will try to post an update after continued use.

Really great oil.
So soothing and moisturizing. The smell is earthy and takes a bit to get used to but is well worth it.

Very nice massage oil
I bought this for my very dry skin and because I'm a Vata in Ayurveda. It has a lovely scent and it's nice warmed up before applying. As a nice bedtime ritual, I apply it to my feet before bed (I wear socks so as to not stain my sheets).

Terrible smell
I bought this because it was described as an earthy or nutty smell. Unfortunately it smells very pungent, kind of like balsamic vinegar. I used it a few different times thinking the smell would dissipate or that maybe I had to use less but even with the adjustments the smell is too strong and off putting. Maybe I got a bad one. The one I received had oil all over the bottle and on parts of the box which I had attributed to shipping but maybe that has something to do with it. Itโs sad because it did feel warming.
