Walt Disney's Fantasia

I love the fact that I don't have to be a big fan of classical music to appreciate this. Even on hearing for the first time, every track sounded familiar and it was an instant hit with me!The packaging is well put together including some of the magical artwork of magician Mickey. There's nothing not to like here. If you're a fan of the film, you'll love this pure and simple and if you're not already a fan of classical music, this could just win you over. It did me!!

You have to understand first of all this recording is well more that 70 years old. The quality is slightly odd and phased but nevertheless Stokowski conducts with tremendous verve and energy drawing an outstanding performance from the Philadelphia orchestra. (Well who wouldn't give an outstanding performance for Walt Disney's Mickey mouse!) The music is an excellent selection of what you might call 'popular' classics I think this would be an excellent introduction to classical music for a child. And, if it's your child, you would get to hear some first rate tunes.

good quality dvd.brought back happy memories of seeing this with my children who are now grandparents. Brought this for my 5 great grand children to whatch they were thrilled with it which is the best review you can have . they are still talking about it and reinacting the Micky with the brooms and buckets.

Avery nice remastering of the original soundtrack. Brought back a few memories. Very pleased with it.

Love the music

This is the original soundtrack of the film and brings back happy memories of your childhood as you reminisce on the infamous 'Sorcerer's Apprentice' scene in the film. Very enjoyable and stirring to listen to, if you choose a Fantasia CD I would recommend you buy this one.

I had a BBC tape of this years ago and purchased the mp3 download as the tape is now sadly no longer playable. To be honest I wish I had not bothered. The first track sounds as if it has someone playing with the mixing desk as the music slides from the left to right channel and back in a sort of wave. Things continue in a similar way throughout. There is no depth to the instruments and the sound is very thin. Another reviewer mentions that this is due to the master being the original film, rather than a direct recording of the orchestra and the sound quality has really suffered as a result.If you love the film purchase the individual tracks by different artists and build your own version rather than buy this album, very very disappointing.

Replacing my vinyl, this version is the best, from the original film soundtrack and just turn it up, it still sounds amazing.

Magnífico CD

Da ich mit dem Film groß geworden bin, habe ich dadurch die Aufnahmen der verschiedenen Stücke kennengelernt. Ich habe immer wieder in andere Aufnahmen mit mehr oder weniger großen Erfolg hineingehört. Dabei habe ich festgestellt, dass keine so an Die Aufnahmen wie für den Film "Fantasia" herankommt.Auch die Lieferung erfolgt ohne große Hindernisse.Großes Lob

Ero rimasto incantato alla visione del film, sia dai cartoni animati, sia da come erano accompagnati dalla musica.Pur avendo il DVD, ho deciso di prendere anche la colonna sonora, veramente bella, con tanti pezzi "famosi" di musica classica.Godibile

Voici un CD que j'ai redécouvert avec joie, En tant qu'enseignante, je l'utilise avec le dvd en parallèle. Les enfants adorent.
